This is Veronica’s Story...
Veronica had been living with HIV for over a decade before she found her way to AIDS Services of Dallas (ASD). Her diagnosis came as a shock and she felt lost, alone, and afraid. It wasn’t until she discovered the supportive community at ASD that she started to feel hope again.

“When I first came to ASD, I was nervous,” Veronica said. “But the staff and volunteers were so welcoming and supportive. They helped me get connected with medical care, provided me with food and housing assistance, and even helped me find a job. I felt like I had a whole team of people cheering me on.”
Veronica quickly became involved with ASD’s community events and support groups. She found solace in connecting with others who understood what she was going through. Through the guidance of ASD’s case management team, she was able to find stable housing and start rebuilding her life.
“I don’t know where I would be without ASD,” Veronica said. “They have been a lifeline for me. I am now living in my own apartment and have a steady job. I have learned how to manage my health and take control of my life.”
