Latin America and the Caribbean América Latina y el Caribe In Latin America & the Caribbean, HIV prevention for sexually diverse populations, including transgender populations and men who have sex with men (MSM), is made significantly more difficult by societal norms that stigmatize same-sex sexual activity and favor conformity to strict gender roles. AIDSTAR-One has been exploring the factors that increase the vulnerability of these key populations; their health care needs; the availability of prevention, care, and support services, and the barriers that prevent access to these services.
