Global Internship Programme Co-operation

Message from the Rector Dear friends, Our University, the former Athens School of Economics and Business, is the oldest educational institution of our country in the fields of Economics and Business Administration. Since 1920, it has created a great tradition in educating the youth of our country. Thousands of its graduates are now senior administrative and financial executives in the public and private sectors, faculty members in Greek and foreign universities, as well as members of international organizations. With eight Undergraduate Departments ranked at the top in the preference list of prospective students, twenty-nine extremely popular (full and part-time) Graduate Programmes and strong doctoral programmes, AUEB is evaluated as one of the leading institutions in our country, but also internationally, in the fields of science that it serves. The University's good reputation reflects the high level of its academic staff, the high quality of research and teaching, the up-to-date curricula, and the distinctions achieved by its faculty and its graduate and postgraduate students. Through the successful internal evaluation process that has been applied over the last years, we try to improve ourselves constantly. Our goal and pursuit is a university that stands out as a centre of education and scientific excellence, democracy, meritocracy, extroversion, transparency and social accountability, source of spiritual wealth, especially in those difficult times that our country is going through. We want our students to acquire the highest scientific training possible, enabling them to become successful professionals in Europe and worldwide. Simultaneously, within its limited financial capacity, AUEB offers its students plenty of cultural and athletic activities, exchange programmes, and other services, contributing to an integral personality development. We aspire for a continuous relationship with our students. Maintaining and further developing the long-term and close cooperation with the Greek business world, our university promotes and supports, through its specialized offices, the career placements of its graduates. With a high sense of responsibility, AUEB contributes decisively to the creation of the most important resource a country can have: human capital.

My studies gave me the necessary qualifications on the general discipline of business studies and the possibility to specialize in the field of marketing. I also found the sound theoretical background, the high standard of teaching and the high level of fellow students extremely helpful for the completion of my MSc studies at the London School of Economics. Additionally, it played an important part in winning the 1st prize on the Philip Morris Marketing Award and securing for me a position in the Nestle working team.
