Outgoing Volunteer Program standards handbook 2017 AIESEC in Lahore


Congratulations dearest EP for applying to an opportunity of a lifetime and going for cross cultural exchange with AIESEC! You will come back with some amazing memories, friends and a huge learning experience, but to get there, you need to go over a few things. This booklet will surely help answer all your questions and explain to you everything that is required of you so please read it carefully!


Required Documents from AIESEC in Lahore: Bonafide Letter (On your request as it varies for visa requirements for different countries)

Expectation Setting: When you go on your exchange don’t expect A LOT. You are going to have fun, that’s guaranteed but you might need to compromise on few things. People accommodating you are AIESECers and people like you and me and they might make mistakes so stay calm and call us we will help you resolve your issue for sure but be patient! Also be open to the new environment, new opinion, and new perspective simply be open to change and a diversified experience.


Arrival Pick Up: Make sure you communicate and coordinate with your hosting LC (Receiving Local Committee) clearly so that they can make arrangements for your pick up. In some projects arrival pick up is not included, check project details to clear the confusion if any.

First Day at Work: An AIESECer from receiving entity will help you on your first day at work as in where you have to go what you are expected to do etc. If they don’t, don’t panic you can always contact us.

Incoming Preparation: Once you arrive at your destination, receiving entity will prepare for your exchange experience similar to as we did. If you have any confusions, you can ask us or them


Job Description: Make sure you know your job description beforehand (check project details) if there will be any changes you will be communicated by the receiving entity.

Duration: You can check the duration of your project in the details of project on opportunity portal. If you have ay confusions, you can ask us.

Working Hour: Again Project details will help you find the working hours per day and week.

Insurance: You need to have a real (not fake) and valid health and travel insurance for your visa. Make sure you have one, you might need it if you get ill on your exchange program.


Accommodation: Â You will be provided with basic accommodation, not a luxurious one. Make sure you have discussed what kind of accommodation you will get with your receiving entity before accepting any project. You can also check the details for accommodation in details of projects.

Basic Living Cost: Most probably, you will get a meal per day for free on your exchange experience (Not necessarily). You can confirm that in the details of project on the portal or with receiving entity.

Development Spaces with opportunity provider: You will learn many things on your project which will be different from corporate world as it is a volunteer program so make sure you focus on your learnings.


Departure Support: Your departure will be same as going on an international trip, make sure you keep all your required documents with you at the airport (passport, ticket, invitation letter and CNIC).

Debrief with AIESEC in Lahore: Once you are back from your experience, you to right us email about how your experience was and any issues that you faced. Were they solved and any other feedback that you want to give. Lastly, you will have to fill the “Standard Survey� on opportunity portal in order to fully complete your exchange program and get a certificate from AIESEC International.
