President's Address Hello! Welcome to the AIESEC Recruitment booklet! As the president of AIESEC in Monash, I'd like to congratulate you on the first step into the world of purposeful leadership. Purposeful leadership? You may be thinking, I don't know the purpose of my life, let alone at the right stage to develop leadership. But that's the beauty of where AIESEC will lead you towards. You don't know the purpose of your life just YET! 80% of the time when you feel not ready, it's just fear that's holding you back. How can you turn that fear into action? My journey inside has been challenging, fun, stressful but most definitely rewarding. AIESEC gives you the opportunity to engage with what's going on in the world today and how can you as an individual, make a positive impact. By developing leadership through being a world citizen, solution oriented, having self awareness and being able to empower others I've seen individuals grow from timid first years to some of the most inspiring people I know to date. Going back to the concept of purposeful leadership I would like to leave you with a few thoughts as you look through this booklet. What if I told you leadership is no longer an official title? What if I told you leadership can be developed in everyone? Consider the concept of everyday leadership through everyday actions. What kind of actions are you demonstrating everyday?

Local Committee President 2016

Silvia Liu
