EP Corner My name is Fadillah Kurnia Mahes. I am 19 years old and I am currently studying in Andalas University majoring Management in third semester. I am doing social project during the winter and I chose Shanghai, China as my project with “Red Wings Project host by AIESEC in Fudan University and the project began from December 28th, 2016 to February 4th, 2017. During the project, I stayed in the dorm that called Unests. I met with new friends from abroad. They were from India, Guangzhou and Nigeria.

In this project, I had more interaction with oldest around 50-75 years old. They were a great people such as professors, entrepreneur, lecturer, etc. In every meeting, they were very happy and enthusiast. We discussed about Indonesia and China like religion, education, behavior, culture, and tourism.

When the Red Wings Project schedule was free, we can joined with Shanghai Memory Project to taught the cute children. We taught them to dare to speak english, we also sang a song together with the children’s song from Indonesia in English, and they also show talent to us such dancing, singing, etc. After that, we gave some souveniers from West Sumatera to them. They were very care, cheer, and always wanted to know everything. It’s make me glad and comfort to do that project. But, I had some problem like I couldn’t extend my visa to stay there because LC in Fudan University didn’t give me the legal letter. So, the imigration couldn’t accept my document and finally, I have to finished my project early, and it was made me sad because I couldn’t say goodbye before return to Indonesia directly to the oldest because I bought the new flight ticket and comeback to Indonesia on January 24th, 2017. After I finished my project, I think I found the new better of myself. I also learned so many things such as communication and leadership skill, time and money management, also manage myself. Because of this programme Global Citizen, it also made me more open minded.
