Best PR Agency 2017 - Slovakia Dynamic Relations was founded in year 2000 and is based in Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. Currently, we are the biggest independent PR agency in Slovakia. We invited Karol Wolf, Managing Director to tell us more about the firm and explore the secrets behind its success. The team at Dynamic Relations consists of internal and external communication professionals with cutting-edge knowhow. Dynamic Relations is all about relations. Possessing a deep knowledge of the Slovakian media market, staff have expertise in the field of crisis communication and maintain exclusive partnerships with influential opinion leaders. The media make the company one of the most sought after PR agencies in Slovakia. Karol explains some of the services that the firm provides as well as describing just some of the clients that the firm deals with. “At Dynamic Relations, we have over 16 years of experience not only in the field of public relations, but in event management, web design, digital, productions and advertising services and media buying, as well. We serve our clients as best as we can. Firms and institutions turn to us in case they need to build up their brand, save or strengthen their reputation or simply promote their products or need some new ideas. We guide them carefully to ensure that their goals are met by not only setting up a tailor-made strategy, but also by managing a potential
crisis communication and finding suitable solutions. To do so, we always need a very clear and deep insight into the work and functioning of the client. “Secondly, we clarify what it is that the client wants to achieve and what means do we have at disposal. With this having in mind we come up with an idea that serves the purpose. These projects have served its purpose and our clients were satisfied with the outcomes. We are happy to provide services that our clients can rely on.” Working within the PR industry, the firm has undertaken many projects and has many similar running at the same time. Below, Karol outlines a few of the projects that the firm are particularly proud of, discussing what each venture entailed and how the company approached them. “Saving the third pillar of Slovakia´s pension scheme was the first internationally awarded Slovakian campaign in general. Our client, the Association of supplementary pension companies (ADDS) has turned to us in the middle of the crisis, when the Slovakian government was preparing amending act on
social insurance and amending act on income tax, which have meant existential threat to the system of third pillar. Our goal was to change the proposed amending acts which we have managed to do so. Throughout a two-month period we have obtained 221 681 signatures for the petition, which is a Slovakian record. While our goal was to reach 100 001 signatures. We succeeded as the planned amending acts were not adopted. Another one of these projects included the campaign in which the National Receipt Lottery was invented in cooperation with the Slovakian Ministry of Finance and National Lottery Company TIPOS. “This was a unique and innovative project with unforeseen comparable parity. The Ministry of Finance of the Slovakian Republic has been implementing a whole series of measures against tax evasion and fraud since 2013. However, none of these truly reached out to public and thus, there was generally a lack of awareness in tax related issues and their implications upon Slovakian economy. The idea to launch National Receipt Lottery was a direct response to a defined challenge: to contribute to
4 Corporate Vision / Marketing, PR and Design Awards 2017
a greater control over black economy. “The project was designed to engage the public by detecting fraud when purchasing a product or service. There emerged a tendency to defend fair business practices, which happened in the following way. Every person participating in the receipt lottery suddenly became a tax editor, because leaving a shop, firm, or a cab without a receipt was not an option anymore. The project of NRL surpassed all expectations and because of its uniqueness and its popularity has been increasing ever since. NRL has literally become an export product of Slovakia. Consequently, we were invited to participate at the presentations of several European national lottery companies.” Lastly, Dynamic Relations created the BeerDefence project to support small independent breweries. Karol describes the task of the firm and notes how the project is still ongoing, being supported by fans and has piqued the interest of some of the media in Slovakia. “Regarding BeerDefence, our task was to support Slovakia’s independent beer, promote our
Best PR Agency 2017 - Slovakia
g breweries and mini-breweries fighting for identity and independence in face of global players. BeerDefence not only wants to persuade Slovakians to drink quality Slovakian beer, but also to guarantee fair competition. Campaign’s goal was to boost public awareness about honest home‑made beer, their young history, protect the producers’ variety against “euro beers” and to communicate fair business conditions. Since its launch, BeerDefence is still actively supported and followed by its fans and is also of a continuous interest of the media. Small independent breweries are in Slovakia more popular than ever.”

Best Event Furniture Rental Company - UK The Event Hire Company is a furniture and styling supplier for corporate events and weddings all over the UK. We invited Victoria to tell us more about the company and find out why it is so successful. Offering a versatile service, the Event Hire Company does not just supply to large companies, it also provides to individual clients for family gatherings and personal occasions. Victoria outlines the firm’s overall mission. “Overall, we aim to style and provide equipment to make everyone’s event exciting and make the process of hiring furniture as stress free as possible for all our clients. We stay in contact with them throughout the process and provide much needed guidance and advice when needed.” Victoria comments on how the company works with clients and aim to find meet and surpass their requirements. “When working with our clients we like to get to know them and find out exactly what they are trying to achieve. Once we have a basic knowledge of this, we can put together options and creative ideas: it is important to stay true to what they would like and not what you think will work
best. By doing this we can gain trust with them and they can feel safe in the knowledge that their event styling is in experienced hands. “With every wedding we supply, our experience has grown and we have learned a lot about dealing with people’s expectations. However, the hardest issue we have faced is providing exactly what the client wants but on a smaller budget. To overcome this, we have had to work closely with our clients, adapting their initial design and advising them on cost cutting ideas such as using faux flowers.” Regarding the future, The Event Hire Company will look to expand and continue its already sterling customer service, with a lot of its business coming through word of mouth in the highly competitive market. “Although there are many hire companies around, we believe our personal service makes us stand out from the rest. “The future for The Event Hire Company is bright and we are
very excited about the options open to us when it comes to styling events. We already have all manner of events booked for 2018 and we are meeting new clients all the time. We will continue to work on bigger and better products as well as continuing our friendly and approachable customer service attitude to keep our clients coming back year after year.”

Paul then goes on to predict what the future has in store for the firm, as it looks to expand into new market areas, and help develop his new company, which he discusses below. “Ultimately, the industry is always changing and constantly evolving with new trends and ways of working, especially on the google front with search engine optimisation and Adwords. We make sure that training is one of our priorities, constantly learning and honing our skills to make sure we are one step ahead of the competition.
“Looking ahead, the future for the company is an exciting one, we are looking to branch into some niche market areas and create our own software as a service. We have also recently created a new company called My Web Pal that leases websites for clients that need a more cash flow conscious website.”

Best Dating Experience Promotional Publication: Machiavellian Last Friday Pty Ltd was originally incorporated to promote Sharyn Atkinson’s self-published book The G.F. List – One Woman with a List of Men, Answering the Question Singles Hate. We spoke to Sharyn as we look to explore the secrets behind the campaign’s success, as well as her own. Machiavellian is a fiction, romance and erotica novel, where I made myself the main character and wrote about what happened to Sharyn Atkinson after the launch of my self-published book The G.F. List, which was a book about my dating experiences as a single woman in Melbourne and a list of men I am not interested in. Overcoming many challenges she faced promoting the book; The G.F. List – One Woman with a List of Men, Answering the Question Singles Hate, Sharyn Atkinson decided to write a novel, Machiavellian as a promotional book, under pseudonym ‘Nina Szabo’ with Last Friday Pty Ltd as the publisher. Sharyn details the rise of Last Friday, explaining how it has helped venture into new projects, before going on to discuss some of the clientele she deals with in her role, and what are her favourite parts of the job. “Since publishing Machiavellian, Last Friday has grown and now has two new arms to it: Kaizen Finance Brokers and Kaizen Business Coaching. I work closely with business owners so they can think differently and explore new ways of doing business that they had not considered previously. Kaizen is the Japanese philosophy of
continual improvement and we empower business to go after their goals, whatever they may be. “Focusing on many aspects within the business, I have a diverse range of clients; from a handbag designer in Italy to a start-up social enterprise telecommunications company in Melbourne. I assist with strategy, business development, sales training, business planning and execution, as well as social media marketing initiatives. Sales and social media are my favourite aspects to assist businesses with.” Last Friday’s mission is to empower business owners to get a clear vision of their future and move towards it. “Here at Last Friday, we achieve this by providing bespoke training, strategy and solutions for a diverse range of clientele so they can move with change. We empower businesses and what better way to show case the success that diversity of thought can have than my own success through campaigns such as Machiavellian.” Relating to the book, Sharyn talks about the Machiavellian campaign, describing the
challenging but also thrilling nature of writing a book under a different name. Writing a different style can be a difficult concept, but it is something that Sharyn embraced and excelled at. “Simply put, my Machiavellian campaign is my longest running campaign by far, it is continuous. It was challenging writing a book in a different style and voice to my own, but I decided to have fun with the concept, Nina Szabo, the title and leave readers clues throughout the book. Clues that would leave readers wondering if Sharyn Atkinson was a real person or whether they were just being deceived.” Sharyn is keen to highlight what she believes to be the key differentiator between Last Friday and other coaching and consulting businesses, and that is leadership. Sharyn states that the team lead by example and use their widespread knowledge and boast a wealth of experience, all of which helps the company create a positive outlook for themselves and the clients. “Essentially, I feel that one of things that makes Last Friday so different to other coaching/ consulting businesses is that we lead by example. I have lived
14 Corporate Vision / Marketing, PR and Design Awards 2017
and breathed self-publishing to become an author while working in the corporate world as a business banker. I have created my own promotional activity, press releases, websites, copy, business plans, social media schedules, book launch. I have been quoted by major publications as an authority on dating and have guest-blogged for several dating websites. When it comes to thinking of alternatives and a new way of doing business, I’m living proof that the only limitation businesses have, is their imagination.” Overall, there is an exciting future ahead for Sharyn and her business ventures. Telling us about her upcoming projects, Sharyn is clearly enthusiastic about expanding the markets she works in, feeling it to be a great honour to be working with well-renowned and innovative companies. “Moving forward, I am excited to be working with a start-up social enterprise in Australia, Mobotel. It is the first telecommunications company to start helping connect underprivileged families to technology. They have completed a soft launch recently where they work with charity organisations and community groups. In 2018,
