Welcome With the Pet Product & Services Awards 2020, LUXlife Magazine looks to recognise those who have helped the industry see exponential growth in recent years. How we care, feed, and treat our pets is a reflection on society and the Pet Product & Service Awards looks to provide the accolades for those who allow us to care for our domestic animal population in a sustainable and humane fashion. We reward individuals, organisations and enterprises who strive to produce the services and products which benefit the health and well-being of mankind’s best friends. With the growth and introduction of niche trends within the pet sector such as: dog beer breweries, cat cafes and pet subscription services amongst many other wild and wonderful businesses, who we seek to identify and honour.

“With thousands of toothbrushes and dental remedies collected over generations in our companies, we regularly find products on the market which have been discarded in the human field, and relaunched in the pet field. Often with similar results in the new market. It’s a great help to know the story of some many of the products tried in the market.” LPP18016 Looking ahead to what the future holds for Petosan, Ole highlights the company’s main ambitions, including continuing to build a global brand. From our own point of view, we will focus on using online opportunities a lot more to help educate dog owners and professionals and help pet owners build better behaviour in preventive care. A closer contact with the public using our products can help us improve our services and approach.”
When discussing how the firm always provides the best possible service to clients, Ole reveals how certain procedures have helped Petosan over the years.
“QA procedures help us to improve faultless delivery, but in the end, it is the common agenda in our company that help us satisfy customer needs. By showing respect for our clients, we deliver solutions that will help them improve their pet’s health. This is the core in our philosophy to be a better company.”
Speaking of technology, Ole is keen to point out how the firm employs technology to ensure that clients enjoy the best possible experience with the firm.
“Our network of specialists is extremely important, as they help us to keep up with the latest in findings and technology development. As we are family company, we work closely together and often find ourselves in the crossing between finding in the vet world and the human world.
As for the wider pet product and service market, Ole informs us of the current trends he is currently experiencing, and how the firm are adapting around them.
“The digitalisation is hard to miss. Both in sales and distribution, as well as in the number of electronic products and services offered for dogs. We expect there to be huge advantages in building competence and using artificial intelligence to give better diagnosis, advice and treatment in a similar way to what we see from the science for human medicine. I assume we will see far more Aps across the pet market, specialised web sites and internet of things making the pet world more connected too, in all of our processes with our pets.
“Petosan is highly dedicated to R&D and has spent at least 25% of its yearly turnover on R&D in the past five years. However, we are strongly increasing R&D expenditure in the current year as well as in the years to come. Petosan employs researchers with decades of R&D experience at the very forefront of both human and pet dental medicine.” It is no secret that behind every successful company, is dedicated team of individuals who work tirelessly to ensure that the firm reaches exceptional heights. For Petosan, Ole gushes about the talented individuals who are a part of the team.
Petosan USA cooperates with ACK in Florida, in order to serve the American market.
“At Petosan, we have a culture that is passionate about pets. The interest in improving pet’s oral health is ingrained within the management and this has developed within the company.

“Also, it is important to mention that Petosan is a small and network based company, meaning that we use our network extensively and work with a number of different industry experts with high expertise in a particular field. Our primary concern is not necessarily becoming a large company, but rather employ people that can help us stay unique and competent. In addition to this, our philosophy is to outsource as much as we can of traditional services. “For those of our staff who are dog parents, brushing their dogs’ teeth is mandatory. We live our brand and do frequently discuss challenges in the daily routine, our experiences and everybody is heard. All staff know the basics of our developments and focus is placed both on behaviour, and on tools and remedies available on the market. Trying out competing products and how they perform is an important part of understanding the market and the challenges that we try all try and overcome. In addition, we are humble to other people’s efforts and ideas. This is because seeing it all in perspective, is important in order to improve.

QUARTERS of SUSSEX Ltd:
the Pet Products Market The animal health and wellness sector has been revitalised in recent years through the arrival of high-end and luxurious products and services. Fitting very much in this luxury mould is QUARTERS of SUSSEX Ltd, a company that specialises in bespoke dog kennels and pet homes. Following their well-deserved recognition in LUXlife’s 2019 Pet Products & Services Awards, we spoke with Owner Gavin Warnfeldt Rush to find out more about their exemplary products and dedicated client service.
design team have a flare for ‘special’. Each piece is made with attention to detail and finished off with an authenticity plaque.” There can be no mistake: every kennel is special and designed by a team of expert craftsmen to the most exacting of requirements. Gavin continues, talking for a moment about the clients that the company serves: “We serve any customer that love and adore their pets. We have found that our standard range of adaptable kennels are popular with pet loving owners but most of our customers are very affluent and have an eye for quality and design and happy to splash out on a really special unique piece.” Of course, it would be wrong to say that the path to success for QUARTERS of SUSSEX has been easy, or, at least, not without its fair share of challenges. Like many of their peers, one of the biggest obstacles was a simple matter of exposure. The pet industry is, after all, a global goliath and only growing more massive year on year. “Our biggest challenge was getting word out there that we are doing what we do. Pets are part of the family and we are fully aware that people, these days, rarely make their dogs live outside: They live in the home in luxury and are generally spoilt - as they should be.
It is no coincidence that the animal health sector has boomed in the last decade, following in the footsteps of the greater health, wellness and fitness movement. After all, as people swiftly realise the importance of looking after themselves in mind, body and spirit, they are also understanding the importance of doing the same for their furrier family members. Partnering this with the needs of the luxury market, QUARTERS of SUSSEX Ltd have soon distinguished themselves through their extensive range of bespoke luxury dog kennels and pet homes that are sure to sate even the most discerning of tastes. After all, this is what luxury is all about – personalisation, exceptional quality and a service that always looks to exceed expectations, not merely meet them. True client-centricity, as Gavin explains, is utterly crucial to the enduring success of the company. “After a comprehensive consultation we can create an indoor or outdoor space for pets that are a stunning addition to a home or garden, fitting in beautifully to the intended surroundings. We have a range of designs that can be adapted, or we can offer a completely unique one-off design process from completion to delivery. With an extensive list of possible add-ons, like insulation, underfloor heating and matching finishes, almost anything is possible.” In this way, Gavin and his team have curated a truly unique product range that is, simply, unavailable anywhere else on the market. “Our
“We still don't expect customers to keep their dogs outside, but we wanted to utilise the very traditional idea of a kennel and offer customers a way of spoiling their pet by giving them a space that is theirs, whilst adding luxury and beauty to the home. The biggest problem was addressing a need for our product – after all, this bespoke service wasn’t available prior to us, so why would people look for it now? Nonetheless, since our establishment, we have experienced a steady increase in customers hearing about us and what we do. Over time, we are sure, this will become a product that more people are aware of and want.” Ultimately, promotion remains the focus for QUARTERS of SUSSEX moving forwards into the tail-end of 2019 and beyond, as Gavin concludes in his closing remarks. “We are particularly focussed on promoting our business through our very selected trade stands we do, namely, Crufts in March and Discover Dogs in October which are both linked to the Kennel Club. Moreover, using our build team’s experience in large luxury contemporary garden room projects and outdoor spaces we are looking to expand into pet-related office spaces and rooms that can complement our full range of pet homes. “At Crufts this year we also launched a new range of bespoke dog collars and leads that follow our company ethos of offering true customisation for our clients, matching requests for colour combinations and styles. Our new branch is called QUARTERS of SUSSEX Paracord and aims to create really unique and special products.” Name: Gavin Warnfeldt Rush Address: Smugglers Cottage, 1 Victoria Road, West Sussex, RH11 7AU, United Kingdom Website: www.quartersofsussex.co.uk Telephone: 07804975296

Style
Aurora Pets - where function, design and style collide Our mission is to find the world’s highest quality products for pets that are fashionably elegant and seamlessly blend in with your own style. We realise the importance of buying products made with un-compromised high-quality materials that are timeless and stylish. Experience Aurora Pets and see the latest collections of luxury dog accessories and designer apparel from the best international designers. The designer dog shop for stylish dog apparel and luxury dog accessories was founded by husband and wife team Ashton and Jonathan Rose, originally inspired by their French bulldog dog Yianni. From a puppy Yianni has always been full of love, confidence and keen to explore: it’s quite amazing the closeness you share and the special bond you build with them. The amount of love, happiness, and laughter a dog being in your life can bring is not something you can convey until you experience it. It’s something we are sure every pet owner can relate too. When we first started to shop around for Yianni trying to find quality, practical products, we realised it wasn’t as easy as it seemed - That is where the idea of Aurora Pets was born.
Our passion is our dogs and getting to work with them is the dream job for us. However, our jobs are so amazing due to our wonderful customers and brands. We get so excited when we know a new collection or product is on its way to us. We are very specific in the products we include in our range - they have to be functional and made with uncompromised quality and materials. Some of our brands include; the classically stylish Cloud7 who are design experts in dog collars, dog leads, carriers and a range of other luxury dog products; Max-Bone dog apparel with brand ambassadors such as Kylie Jenner, Vanessa Hudgens, and Selma Blair as well as Bondi Wash, which is a plant-based luxury dog grooming range designed to care and protect for your dog’s skin and coat. All of our brands pride themselves on quality fabrics, high craftsmanship, and sustainable, ethical manufacturing. Towards this goal, many of our suppliers and ourselves are involved with dog charities such as Modern Beast, giving 100% of their profit to dog rescue centres, Beautiful Joe’s providing the same quantity of products that we buy to dog shelters. Ultimately, being involved with our partner charities to help raise awareness is extremely important to us. We at Aurora Pets also realise that the goal for change is not just on land with charities but at sea too. This is why we made the pledge to be plastic free in our packaging and hope to be completely plastic free in all products by the end of 2019. We believe we can help towards the environment by both cutting out the use of plastic in our packaging and also finding eco-friendly materials that do not harm the planet.
Aurora Pets was created to bring the best brands in the world to the UK for discerning dog owners. Quality and function are of the utmost importance to us, whilst also realising that dog accessories can fit in with our own style both while we are in and out of our homes. The sentiment “you get what you pay for” is definitely true when it comes to our brands as the design, quality and attention to detail is second to none. As members of our family, we want to make sure they have the best of everything - be comfortable and cosy at home, be warm on colder days when we are out exploring, play with the most fun toys around, and be groomed with natural products that are kind and caring to their skin.
Another major part of what we do at Aurora Pets is to provide as much valuable information for our customers as possible. We regularly release blogs on feeding guides, style tips, and our ‘out and about’ series. The feeding guidelines currently cover our journey of raw feeding as we made the switch following skin irritations that Yianni was experiencing. In our Style Tips, we have interviews with the brands we stock at Aurora Pets so that our customers and readers can get to know them and their inspiration, and our Out and About series currently covers interesting places to walk with your dog and places to stay.
As Aurora Pets has grown, so has the family with a new four-legged member French Bulldog Yoko. As a part of the Aurora Pets team, we like to let them test all the potential products we retail for quality, durability and the all-important taste tests – which, I’m sure, is their favourite part of their job.
