Police Shotgun Course Conscious of the few up-to-date training options for the “tactical” use of this versatile weapon, the International Police Instructors’ Association designed a course within their realistic and effective training program, where you acquire the basic knowledge for a correct and effective use of the police action pump or semiauto shotgun.

In spite of its name and origin, “police”, the course has also been taught to private security operators, militaries, military contractors, escorts, civil shooting instructors, sport shooters, etc. This is because the general block of the contents can be applied on any user of a action pump shotgun, the difference lies in the specific contents and length, being 14 hours for FFCCSS users and 10 hours for users from the civil area; the 10 hours course will be certified as “Tactical Shotgun Course” and the 14 hours one as “Police Shotgun Course”.

In the course description, it is the section “Police Specific that marks the difference, the rest of the contents are the same for both training actions.

As with all AIIP courses, the contents and length of the activity is flexible and modular in order to adapt to the receiver unit or organizing body.

For any clarification, explanation or doubt, please contact our training representative in your area or country; or the generic e-mail a.i.i.p.esp@gmail.com, indicating on top your area and the reference of the course you inquire about. EACH STUDENT should wear clothes as similar as possible to the police or working clothes, as well as his/her tactical belt with all protection items. OBLIGATORY: Short service weapon with holster, ear and eye protection, Cal.12 shotgun with carrier belt, shell pouch for Cal.12 cartridges, 100 Cal.12 cartridges and 50 9mm cartridges. Recommended: ballistic protection and joint protectors for elbows and knees, hydration, notebook, headwear and gloves. In the case the student does not usually carry a short weapon, it will not be necessary to carry one in the course. Students of private courses of 1 or 2 members, in the case they do not have a long or short weapon available, they can be provided one during the course (provided that they have the license and documents that prove them as fire arm users). We recommend a good level of handling and use of short fire arms as well as a few basic notions of how a shotgun works. For the safety of the assistants and the teaching staff, the pace of the course will be adapted to the general level of those assisting; thus the contents might be diminished if the students do not reach the determined objectives of each stage. In the case that progression was extremely fast and there was time left, shooting drills of police shotgun will be trained.
