Your maternity session at AION IMAGING includes an hour of photography on location. We also offer various hair and make-up assistance and have beautiful maternity dresses available.

Hi there! I'm Joy, lead photographer at AION IMAGING. Birth photography is founded upon experience, vision, and relationship. I have attended births in a wide variety of settings and circumstances, and my years of medical experience allow me to move comfortably in the birth environment while maintaining a strong rapport with other birth professionals. I believe in empowered birth, and I have seven children of my own. This allows me to provide uniquely empathetic and caring service. We'll work together to craft a plan that will document your birth and enable you to share it for years to come.

Birth photography coverage begins with an inperson consultation. At this meeting, we will discuss your pregnancy, the coverage and options we offer, and all the many details. I like to ensure that all involved are aware and comfortable with the concept of birth photography. Open communication is a high priority. I provide three weeks of on-call coverage. This includes the weeks before, of, and after your estimated due date. When the time is right, I will join you at your birth location and provide photography coverage from early labor until the first few hours after birth.

Your birth photography coverage also includes a Fresh Baby session, either in the first few hours after birth or the next day. This session documents your baby's new life in a casual and candid manner.

Breastfeeding is a goal many mothers have. However, most mothers stop exclusive breastfeeding after two weeks, and only 10% continue exclusive breastfeeding at 6 months. The nursing relationship is not only a special bond to document, but it is one that can be encouraged with photography. Many women find that looking at photographs of their baby while nursing or pumping helps to encourage let down. AION IMAGING offers a free softcover book to every nursing photography client in order to support her in her breastfeeding goals.Â
