MEZ PORTABLE WORKSPACE DESIGN MAKER WORKSHOP AT NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN DURATION: 2 WEEKS
Brief On an average, I spend at least 20 minutes taking things out of my bag and putting them back in at the end of the workday. This ordeal usually ends in complete disarray, making the activity much more painful for the next time The aim of this project was to tackle this situation head on, so that I wouldn’t have to take each individual object from my bag. To take it a step further, I decided to make it completely customizable, such that it could fit specific professional requirements.

res-q SYSTEMS DESIGN AND THINKING ACADEMIC PROJECT AT NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN DURATION: 10 WEEKS
Brief The Juvenile Justice System is the primary system that provides care, protection and order to the at-risk youth of the country. A large-scale social system, it is also one ridden with countless problems and issues. The aim of the project was to study the system and the interconnecting systems by interacting with the elements within, and coming up with a design solution to an identified problem.

research For the purpose of this project, we, as a team, visited police stations, juvenile justice courts, various NGO’s and 4 observation homes, which housed juvenile delinquents, both, under trial and convicted. It was a harrowing experience, but certainely one, important to gain a holistic understanding of the system. With each visit, we understood better and came up with an explainatory map.
35
research One of the gaps identified was that the practice of restorative jusice is very less in the observation homes, although, it has shown beneficial effects in adult prisons in India and the West. The reason for this is the lack of experienced and trained personnel who can conduct restirative circles within the system. ResQ attempts to provide counsellors, unexperienced in the method of conducting a restorative circle, a way to conduct a restorative circle, and children to be able to sustain the practice on their own without the need of a facilitator. After undergoing multiple successful trials, the game is currently with the Khanpur Observation Home in Ahmedabad and Dongri Childrens’ home in Mumbai. Shown below is the prototyping process for the game. For the full project documentation, please visit: https://issuu.com/aishwaryarane3/docs/systems_ document.
n’olio SURFACE CLEANING DEVICE ACADEMIC PROJECT AT POLITECNICO DI MILANO DURATION: 4 WEEKS
Brief Indian and Chinese food is famous all around the world and greatly appreciated for its unique blend of flavours. There is another thing in common with the cuisines of these two countries: they use a considerable amount of oil, more than most continental countries. This makes it much harder to clean an Eastern kitchen than a European or American kitchen. The brief here was to create a gadget which would deep clean an Indian and Chinese kitchen, ridding it of oil and grease.

guid GRAPHIC USER INTERFACE DESIGN ACADEMIC PROJECT AT POLITECNICO DI MILANO DURATION: 4 WEEKS
Brief The brief of this project was to change the existing website of ATM Milano to a new, easy to access website. Azienda Transport Milano, ATM, is an Italian transport company based in Milan. ATM manages public transport in Milan and in 46 municipalities and provides service for four modes of transportation: •Metropolitan •Bus •Tram •Trolley bus

analysis Before attempting to change the layout or aesthetics of the site, we conducted a heuristic analysis. For ATM, we also identified some benchmark sites, against which we compared the current features available on the site. These sites were the public transport sites of London, Paris and Rome. We also studied the people who visited the site through the use of personas

pinch REDESIGNING A SAFETY PIN ACADEMIC PROJECT AT NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DESIGN DURATION: 4 WEEKS
Brief Safety pins are one of the most crucial inventions that have affected the lives of somany people and dancers. Dancers specifically because in my experience as a dancer, it has been extremely hard to put on a pin in time for a 10 second costume change. The brief for this project was to make a pin that would be easier to use than the existing safety pin for quick changes.

Zipper Not adjustable Needs to be stitched on Possibility of breaking Easy to use Cannot hold multiple cloths
users

yrmg MOTION GRAPHICS ANIMATION CLIENT PROJECT FOR YouRmyGuide A PUNE BASED APP DURATION: 8 WEEKS
Brief Travelling alone or with a group can be a little daunting, especially knowing where to go and what to see. The folks at YouRmyGuide tried to solve this problem precisely by creating a travel guide app. I was part of this project as a advertisement filmmaker. The brief was to make a motion grahic advertisement to showcase the features of the app.

script To flesh out the visuals of the script, I used calligraphy and some preliminary typography. It helped me set the mood for the visuals for the words.
99
the final video For the final video, I was able to learn AfterEffects. The most difficult part of making the video was perhaps making sure that the visuals and music were coherent. The music was provided by a musician friend, who brainstormed with me for a few days as to what kind of music it should be, and the mood of the tunes and visuals. The outcome is what you see here on this page.
