ABSOLUTE AND RELATIVE LOCATION Relative: Holland is located in North-East Europe The North Sea is on the West It is in the North and East hemispheres Germany is to the East and Belgium to the South
Absolute: The absolute location of Amsterdam (the capital city) is 52° 22' N, 4° 53' E. The absolute location of Holland is 52° 7' N / 5° 17' E.
REGION The capital of Holland is Amsterdam  Some of the other main cities are The Hague, Rotterdam, Den Helder and The Antilles. 
PLACE Physical: There is a volcano in the Antille Islands . The volcano is called Mount Scenery. It is the highest point in the Netherlands. The volcano is on the island of Saba.
Another Physical landform is Maho Beach in Saint Maarten. It is famous for the Princess Juliana International Airport. As you lie on the beach the airplanes fly right over you.
PLACE (CONTINUED) There is a very pretty canal in Holland that they call the ‘Green Heart of Holland’ it is located in a town called Utrecht. There are pretty draw bridges that you go under when they are open.
HUMAN CHARACTERISTICS The language is called ‘Dutch’ most of the people speak Dutch and some speak English The currency is called the Euro The desserts usually include fruit , ice cream and fruit pies, a Dutch favourite’s include Poffertjies, stroopwaffles and dairy products. Population is around 16,696,000

thing that people do in Holland is push back the sea so they can build houses. They do this by using natural sand dunes and man-made dikes, dams and floodgates They have also a complicated system of drainage ditches, canals and pumping stations
