Located in the Oeiras city centre, near the Oeiras Church it is believed that the palace dates from 18th century and it belonged to a recreational farm from António Rebelo de Andrade. This emblematic space was reclassified in 2009 and transformed into a cultural centre. The project was designed by the architect Vaz do Carmo and includes a gallery, a bookshop and a tea-house. From the palace there are few elements that resisted to the degradation and changes over the years as the main facade, the portico and a staircase. Manuel de Brito Collection – Permanent Exhibition Until February 12th you can visit the Noah’s Ark Exhibition which theme wants to show the approach made by national contemporary artists. The magic and mystery from the animal world are a constant since the origin of humanity. There are exposed drawings, paintings, sculptures and objects made by several materials by artists as Júlio Pomar, Lourdes Castro, Paula Rego, Fátima Mendonça, Graça Morais and others.
Knowing the existence of the rich collection of religious art in the Oeiras Church, the Oeiras City Council took over the responsibility for its disclosure, enabling the viewing of this estate, never before exposed.
