How to renovate the facades to best conserve the authenticity of the building? a) leave the exterior surfaces the way they are at the moment best expression of villa’s faith, reminder of conservation issues b) considering other important aspects protecting the villa from further decay, villa being an important veduta in space how would locals react when seeing the same old ruin after the long awaited renovation? south, east and west exposed surfaces get a smooth, unified plaster finish north brick wall stays exposed inside the glass extension wooden veranda - an essential element of Bled’s 19th century villas innovative reinterpretation - structural steel frame and decoration element cut from thin sheet metal = in a way a projection of the original designW experience from afar = new renovated facade experience from close up and inside = duality of old/new, raw/clean
Tree houses offer the guests an up-to-date experience of stay in Rikli’s air huts with incredible views. Their simple but flexible interior offers various layouts according to the time of the day. Incorporated wood connects the houses as well as guests to thenature around them. Polycarbonate facade sheets make the volumes look like airy, almost invisible structures by day and like light installations by night.

East of Villa Rikli, under the chestnut trees, an airy pavillion is envisaged. It provides a new, intriguing social space for promenade walkers. Just like Rikli’s patients, they can prepare themselves a healthy fresh meal with garden crops. It is a meeting point for tourists - with interests in Bled, Rikli and location itself - and locals - with information. Them talking about these subjects is just one of many ways of reviving and conserving the important heritage that Rikli left behind.

STEEP ROOF, LOW KNEE WALL
Kranj, Slovenia Delo in dom magazine Architecture dialogue - attic apartment renovation | 2015 | 1st prize | Mentor: doc. dr. Ĺ pela Hudnik , udia Family of four wishes to organise an individual living unit in an emtpy attic. Considering a steep single-pitch roof that provides alot of height, solution is an open, airy space in two levels. West half of lower level is a clean living part with a play space, kitchen, dining area and living room. Along the east wall, there is a stripe of utility spaces, bathroom and bedroom. In upper level, there are two children rooms, visually connected to living area below. This way, children have their own separate space which in the same time is also a part of an open whole.

FROM A COUPLE TO A FAMILY
Lovrenc na Dravskem polju, Slovenia Delo in dom magazine Architecture dialogue - attic apartment renovation | 2015 | Mentor: doc. dr. Špela Hudnik, udia Family wishes to create an attic apartment for their son and his future family. Solution is a clean and open floorplan that enables further developement according to needs (from a young couple to a family). Living area consists of kitchen, dining area, living room and workspace. Its center is a fireplace that creates a warm ambient. Combination of roof windows and vertical elements creates views that were previously non-existent and it also provides necessary daylight. The other side of floorplan is meant for a secluded sleep area with a bathroom. In the future, workspace can be transformed into children’s room. The bathroom becomes passable - accessible from both bedrooms.

Location : Gaziantep, Turkey Competition task: a) elementary school for ~500 children aged 6-10 b) sport hall c) bio - garden
As presented in concept digrams, school has a service area on north, row of classrooms on south and a common area in the middle. Sport hall is separated due to passivness. It is connected to school by a panoramic path looking on garden. The schools interior, especially hallways are designed as a playground, so children can enjoy their breaks in a friendly social environment.

Living by Ljubljanica or by rivers in general is percepted as a higher standard living. Gruber's canal, a part of Ljubljanica, doesn't have this character. Nearby residents don't have a feeling of living by the river, because the location is degraded. Revitalization would make it a quality in space and would provide a feeling of better life and new activities to residents.
railway=danger, noise
While making analysis, I noticed several voids, that are potential locations for new programs and are also key points connected by a new path. Areas of recreation, relaxation and socialising can be established.
central volume as a barrier
Location opposite Mesarska street is treated in detail. Sport, play and picnic surfaces can be designed on a green area under Golovec hill. I also propose a central volume with wardrobes, a multifunctional hall, a smaller bar and a daycare centre. By and above the river, new paths and quiet spots are proposed. This way, the location becomes a new attraction for residents and public.

Casa Mallorca is one of the luxury individual houses projects that we worked on during my internship. Designing the house considering all the investors wishes demanded every detail to be thoroughly attended to. Though the process itself was complicated, the end result is a clean design with an impressive mix of sensibly used materials and innovative construction techniques as part of various volumes that respond to the surroundings, views and hot summer climate. photos: http://www.mlacomba.com/content/mallorca-house
