How To

Care

For

Your

Waffles

Welcome Welcome to a brief but detailed lesson on How to Care for Your Waffles! First off, let’s discuss what a ‘Waffles’ is exactly. To put it simply, Waffles is just a dog. To put it less simply, she is the most important dog in the world. That is why I’m writing this whole pamphlet about her! I also believe that in the near future, everyone will have a Waffles of their own. This means that everyone is going to need to know how to care for them the best that they possibly can. Lets Begin by introducing ourselves to Waffles:

2

Here she is! This is Waffles. She is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, she comes in many different colors, shapes and sizes, and she can live to about 12 years old. This Waffles, who will be the subject and example for this pamphlet, is just about five years old currently. Waffles has grown to be big, strong, healthy, and loved. All Waffles can grow and thrive just like she has, with just a few simple and important steps. Now that we have met Waffles and have learned a few things about her, we can start to go into how we can care for her the best that we can so that she can grow happy and healthy.

3

Get a Waffles The first, and quite possibly the most necessary step in caring for your Waffles, is getting your hands on one. You can do this in a multitude of ways. Some are legal, some are ethical, and some are not. No matter which method you choose, always be sure that it is the best way. The last thing you want to do is buy from an irresponsible breeder or steal from someone who loves their dog and wants to keep them. As long as you follow that rule, you can be on your way with your new best friend!

4

You can get your Waffles at any stage in their life. most people prefer to get them when they’re just puppies, but all Waffles deserve a loving home no matter what stage of life they are in. If you come across an old Waffles who needs just that, don’t hesitate to provide it for them. Our Waffles that we have as an example for now started at her loving home at just 8 weeks old! She was purchased from an ethical breeder and brought home to a family who was eager and happy to give her a wonderful life full of love and growth.

5

Feed Your Waffles The next step in taking care of your Waffles is feeding them. There are many different ways that you can feed Waffles. Not all of them are wrong, but some are preffered over others. You can stick to just kibble to be safe, which is a perfectly fine option as long as you do your research to know exactly what kibble is OK to be giving to your Waffles. Some kibble is not good for Waffles, so be careful. You could even feed Waffles fast food if you wanted, but keep in mind that you want Waffles to grow up healthy and strong, and certain diets will not provide the nutrients she will need to get there.

6

Our subject Waffles has a mixed diet in order to provide all nutrients and supplements she needs to continue to grow and thrive. Though kibble provides a moderately sufficient amount of these nutrients, it is smart to add extra ingredients to check off all of the boxes and make Waffles as healthy as possible. A few different thing that Waffles gets in her diet consist of good kibble, water, apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, pumpkin puree, eggs, hip and joint supplements, carrots, etc. These ingredients are determined by learning what would be good for Waffles’ overall health. Do your research to know what is best for your own dog.

7

Potty Time A necessary but unpleasant step in caring for Waffles is potty time. All dogs use the potty, and taking time to train them how to potty properly will make training and caring for Waffles so much easier. It is important to make potty training a fun anf happy experience for Waffles, that is the best way that she learns. Try not to punish harshly when she does the wrong thing, but praise greatly when she does the right thing. Treats are a great tool when potty training because they make the reward 100% more rewarding for Waffles, helping her to learn faster.

8

Teach Waffles that potty time is fun and pleasant, and infinite rewards are available when she does the right thing. Positive reinforcement is the best method for training any skill.

9

Exercize Waffles Waffles needs exercize in order to continue to be healthy, happy, and strong. There are many ways that exercize can be achieved, but one of the most effective and easy ways to do so is to take her on walks. Walks are great because they’re a simple, easy, cheap form of exercize that you just need to walk out your front door to get to. Simply get a leash, a harness or collar, and maybe bring along a water bottle and you’re on your way! Walks can be as short or as long as you want, but you should always try to at least get 15 minutes a day. An hour a day would be preffered, but some people don’t have that much time, so any walk is a good walk.

Trick Training One perfect way to achieve enrichment for your Waffles is to teach her tricks. Tricks aren’t a required step in caring for your dog, but they can make your life and Waffles life easier, more helpful, and more fun. Most dogs love to please and love to work. teaching Waffles tricks brings her as much joy as it will bring you because Waffles loves to be rewarded for doing something fun, and you will feel rewarded seeing what you are capable of teaching your best friend. Some good and simple tricks to teach are sit, stay, lay down, shake, spin, fetch, come, and roll over.

12

13

Play Time Though tricks are a great way to have fun with your dog, it can take a lot of hard work and thinking on both sides. Sometimes it is nice to have easy fun without the hard work of learning. There are many different ways to play with Waffles. You can throw a ball, play tug of war, toss random objects, wrestle or tease, etc. All of these things can increase your bond with Waffles. Growing closer to your pet and learning different things about them is one of the most rewarding things about owning a Waffles.

Bathe Your Waffles Hygiene is very important when it comes to caring for Waffles. If Waffles is dirty all the time, she will be unhealthy and unhappy, and you will want to do less with her because she isn’t clean. so, it is necessary for everyone’s sake that you keep her clean. You should only bathe Waffles once every two to three weeks. Any more than that and her skin and coat will become irritated and unhealthy, which is counterproductive to the whole purpose of bathing Waffles. Find good soap that is healthy for dogs sensitive skin, make sure the water isn’t too hot, and make sure that you make bath time a happy and fun experience for both you and Waffles.

17

Bedtime Finally, the last step in caring for your Waffles is to take her to bed so she can get the rest that she needs to keep growing strong and healthy. Technically Waffles can sleep anywhere, but there is no harm in making a comfortable area where she can feel safe and happy while she sleeps. Buy her a nice cozy bed for her to rest on. Some dogs feel very safe in kennels, because it serves as a sort of cave for them to be secluded and comfortable. Some Waffles prefer to sleep on the bed with you, and so long as that doesn’t bother you, there is no reason not to cuddle the night away with your best friend!

18

Congrats! You now know how to care for you Waffles, and are more than ready to start a wonderful and long friendship with the most loyal and loving partner you can find. Good luck, and have fun!
