from February 28th to 2nd of March Festival Brassurround

The Brassurround is not closed… it is moved! Spanish Brass Luur Metalls has always been independent and looking for freedom. And it is precisely the defence of this freedom what has made us move the festival to the beautiful city of Oliva this year, by the sea. The last seven editions we brought closer to the young students of metal instruments the most prestigious soloists, teachers and international groups such as Mnozil Brass, German Brass, Belgian Brass, Canadian Brass, Metales de la OSRTVE, Steven Mead, Christian Lindberg, Jens Bjonr-Larsen, John Kenny, Oystein Baadsvik, Adam Frey, Eric Aubier y Vladimir Kafelnikov, among others. We strongly believe in our project and because of this, thanks to the City Council’s hospitality and the “Quintet de Metalls de Vent” collaboration, we are going to enjoy another Brassurround edition. It is necessary to add that during the next season 20142015 we will celebrate our 25th anniversary as a chamber’s group. Thank you!

“SENY” exhibition

Ivana Larrosa

Seny, an exhibition produced by the “Museu de la Vida Rural de la Fundació Lluís Carulla”, is a showing about two sagas of stonemasons and blacksmiths who, since the nineteenth century, have been involved in the restoration of the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet after the return of the Benedictine Order in 1940. Ivana Larrosa has worked in many positions, all of them being related to the audio-visual world and she has finally specialized in photography. Although she possesses a huge training in the audio-visual field and specially in photography, her passion for the camera is vocational and it grew up in her as far as she can remember. In Seny, she reflects on the passage of time, the memory and the prints, the trails, the impressions, the professional transmission of knowledge, the hardness of traditional jobs, the uncertain future… Place: Ethnological Museum in Oliva “C/Tamarit, 2-4”
