“Estelles” Party
Vicente Andrés Estellés is considered to have revived contemporary Valencian poetry and is also remembered as the greatest Valencian poet since the 15th century, i.e. since the time of Ausiàs March and Roís de Corella. The party will be open to all poetry aficionados who wish to take part. It will be celebrated with musical poetry readings and a popular dinner with appetisers, drinks and desserts. Parties in the neighbourhood of “Sant Francesc de Assis” (St Francis of Assisi), Patron Saint of Oliva. Enjoy one of Oliva’s most dynamic and youthful neighbourhoods, this year with a wide variety of scheduled events: traditional, cultural and touristic. Friday 2nd: Dance festival in Calle del Niño organised by the dance troupe “Raval i Vila”. Everyone is invited to dance. Time: 9:30pm Saturday 3rd: Popular paella competition in Calle Sant Ignasi de Loiola y Santa Rosa. Open to all. Everyone brings their paella and its ingredients and the partygoers sit down to eat. Time: 12:30pm Sunday 4th: Solemn procession through the Sant Francesc (St Francis) neighbourhood accompanied by marching bands. Time: 7:30pm. The party ends with a firework display at 11pm.
