Greetings: On behalf of the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Epsilon Chi Omega Chapter, I welcome our newest members to our illustrious, illuminated and innovative sisterhood. I am pleased you accepted our invitation to join the premier African American Sorority's continued efforts to improve the lives of others. Your initial foray into the world of Alpha Kappa Alpha over the last several weeks has exposed you to our history and organization, expectations of membership, policies against hazing, official sorority documents, personal responsibility, and service. These principles serve as the foundation upon which you will continue to build as you grow within the organization. Never stop being curious; participate in all that you can, and continuously commit yourself to the tenets of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Your efforts in the years to come will allow us to repay the everlasting debt we all have to those upon whose shoulders we stand and have achieved tremendous success! Scripture states in Luke 12:48 (NIV) "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." Your Alpha Kappa Alpha life will be characterized not only by lifelong friendships and sisterly bonds that transcend space and time, but also by an increasing concern for humanity and a growth in spirit. Alpha Kappa Alpha has been at the vanguard of enriching the lives of people for over 114 years. The Alpha Kappa Alpha model has served as the prototype for countless organizations and has stood the test of time because our members have remained true to our mission of Service to All Mankind. Greetings, On behalf of the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Epsilon Chi Omega Chapter, it is indeed an honor and a pleasure to extend a sisterly, heartfelt welcome to each of you. We are blessed to initiate twenty-five extraordinary Pearls into our Exemplary, Confident, and Optimistic sisterhood. As you know, our founders had a vision for promoting sisterhood and service to all mankind. We are still holding fast to that vision. Under the leadership of our 30th International President, Dr. Glenda Glover, our 19th South Atlantic Regional Director, Mrs. Carolyn G. Randolph, the members of Epsilon Chi Omega charge you to uphold the vision as we implement the 2018-2022 International programs under the theme Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service, to inspire our communities. Finally, I urge you to have a clarity of purpose while adding value to Alpha Kappa Alpha’s sisterhood by offering your “talents, time, and treasures” as we serve with Excellence together! On March 8 in fifty-two Epsilon Chi Omega came true They joined in union with their dear sorority With pride and grace and true dignity. Joining a bond to form loving deeds They planted a legacy of alleviating needs They linked their arms and each pledged her heart Growing a legacy of love right from the start. Ms. Sarah Bull

Sarah O'Lizabeth Bull currently serves at the Darlington County School District as a Human Resources Assistant and Recruitment. Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge from her five years of work in the social work real, to include: Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Social Services (Child Support Enforcement) and (Adoption Services). Sarah’s biggest accomplishment is finalizing 42 families with the South Carolina Department of Social Services Adoptions Division. Sarah earned a Bachelors of Arts in Mass Communications and a minor in Sociology from Francis Marion University. Sarah also earned a Masters of Art Degree in Human Resource Management. Sarah’s family includes: Mom-Idella Bull, her wonderful significant other Elijah, and two beautiful little girls: Karson and Kayden.

Ms.Tiana Bush

Tiana C. Bush is from Atlanta, GA and currently resides in Florence, SC. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Digital Design from Claflin University. Tiana currently volunteers as the Graphic Design Coordinator and Media Team Supervisor for her church. She has been a volunteer now for 10+ years now. Tiana also serves her community through fundraising, Back to School Bash’s, Angel Tree Projects, and mentoring the youth. Tiana is currently a Quality Assurance Analyst for Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina. Her love for resolving issues and assisting others is what inspired her to take on this new career path. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, painting, traveling, spending time with family, and keeping up with the latest sports news.

Ms. Brittany Cobb

Brittany Ja’Nei Cobb is a Supervisor at CVS Pharmacy; she specializes in team building and educating employees on the basic use of software and communication procedures. A powerful force always showing up with a positive attitude and “can do” spirit, encouraging others to work hard and succeed. Brittany always displays her “Cobra Pride” a proud Coker College Alumni (now Coker University) with a Bachelor of science degree in Sociology with a minor in Social Work. Brittany is inspired by her clientele at her small business “Bodied By Brittany” and her fur baby Gus. In her free time, Brittany is the first one on the dance floor, she likes to play board games and card games, and travels frequently with her nephew.

Ms. Dyneise Conner-Johnson

Dyneise Conner-Johnson is a seasoned professional in higher education. Her life’s journey has guided her to a purpose of serving others. Dyneise earned a B.A. degree in Communication from the University of South Carolina-Aiken. She plans to continue her education by pursuing a Masters Degree in the Fall. She is also the co-founder of her non-profit organization, Pretty and Prepped for Success, a certified career development facilitator, and the owner of Dyneise Symone Photography. Her experience has carried her across locations throughout the South East, but her heart always brings her back home to South Carolina. As the second eldest of four girls, she found her love of mentorship through helping her little sisters, which inspires her to help others. Dyneise is the proud legacy of her mother, Silver Star member Arischa Conner-Frierson, and her great-grandmother and former life member, the late Edneta Conner.

Mrs. Angela Council

Angela Jett Council is a compassionate nurse practitioner for Caresouth Carolina at the Bishopville Center. She has spent over 28 years in nursing, caring for families in the Pee Dee. Angela earned a B.S. in Nursing degree at Winston Salem State University, MSN-Ed degree from the University of Phoenix, and a Post Master’s Certificate in Advance Practice Nursing at the University of South Carolina. She is certified as Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her service in nursing includes Nurse Educator, Medication-Assisted Treatment provider, and Adolescent Health Advocate. Angela enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband Ramon and her son Tracy. Her favorite scripture is 1 John 4:4 “Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.”

Ms. Illiyah Edwards

Illiyah Phyllis Edwards is a registered clinical nurse on the mother/baby unit at Duke University Hospital. Ambitious and dedicated to her calling, she serves as the youngest charge nurse on her team. In 2019, Illiyah earned her B.A. from Spelman College, and in 2020 her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University. She is obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University to become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Illiyah is the founder of Inspire Everyone, where she aims to uplift and encourage youth in the community. In addition, she is the youngest philanthropist for Wilson High School (℅ 2015), as she utilizes her organization to award graduating seniors with funding to attend an HBCU. Illiyah is well known for her ministry and choreography in liturgical dancing but also in pageantry as Miss Pink and Green 2008 of EΧΩ, Miss Florence Teen 2014, Miss Wilson High School 2014, Miss Junior 2018, and Miss Durham USA 2022.

Dr. Fraronda Green

Dr. Fraronda Green is entering her 13th year in education. Serving first as a middle and high school teacher for eight years and now as a training and development coach of novice teachers for the non-profit organization, Teach for America. Dr. Green will celebrate her fifth year of employment with Teach for America in August. Dr. Green earned her BA degree in English from the University of South Carolina in 2009. She went on to pursue and obtain her Master’s degree from the University of South Carolina in Secondary Education in 2010. In 2020, she received her latest degree, an EdD in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Green is the proud founder and visionary of Eden Ministries, a non-profit organization with the sole purpose of leading young people to a place of total dependency on God. A daughter, niece, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend, Dr. Green, is a lover of Christ and a champion for all young people.

Ms. Sandy Green

Sandy Green has been employed with AFCO Premium Finance Corp, a subsidiary of Truist Bank, for over 17 years. She supervises a team of 10 employees as the collections supervisor. Sandy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Fayetteville State University. She is a South Carolina notary public, and serves as a member of the Darlington National Council of Negro Women. She lives by the Golden Rule: "Treat Other's the way you want to be treated." Sandy is the mother of Darius and SaMone and two beautiful granddaughter's Dakota and Madison.

Mrs. Wanda Green

Wanda Green is a Certified Health Education Specialist working in Rural Health & Nutrition. Wanda has over 11 years of experience working with CDC community grants in the Pee Dee Region. Currently, Wanda work involves reducing the high obesity rate in Lee County through Policy, Systems and Environmental changes. Wanda earned a BS degree from Coastal Carolina University and is currently pursuing her Master degree in Executive Healthcare Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. (Anticipated graduation May 2023). Wanda lives in Florence with her husband Daniel and two children Alexis and Joshua. Her favorite inspirational phrase is "Be Still and Know that I am God". Psalm 46:10

Ms. Michelle Ham

Michelle Ham is the proud wife of a Marine Veteran (Shkari) and very blessed to have two young sons (Dayton and David) and expecting the completion of their family with a beautiful baby girl in August 2022. Michelle Ham currently serves as a Program Coordinator II for Florence County with the Department of Children’s Advocacy. Michelle is a graduate of Francis Marion University (2008) where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Michelle also serves as volunteer Guardian ad Litem in Florence County and advocates tirelessly for the unmet needs of local youth. She also serves on the Project Best Community Change Team whose focus is providing accessible intensive counseling and support services for children with problematic sexual behavior. Michelle believes that families are valuable and is dedicated to helping to reunify families through healthy connections and support so that they can heal and thrive. Michelle is committed to helping to ensure that children are safe, loved, and provided for.

Ms. Chelsea Jacobs

Chelsea Jacobs is an energetic and creative professional in College Admissions and Recruitment Leader with over 5 years of experience in areas of customer service, enrollment recruitment, student services, retention, and employee staffing. In 2020, Chelsea received her BS in communication and now serves as Assistant Director of Admissions at her Alma Mater, the College of Charleston. Chelsea strives to maintain positive relationships with constituencies and industry partners and is highly effective in communications, customer relations, and cultural awareness skills resulting in the success and inclusivity of workspaces. Chelsea enjoys bringing happiness to her loved ones and community. She has two nephews, Maxie III and Ezra, that brighten her entire world. She is the co-founder of The Maury Bruce Memorial Scholarship to assist graduating seniors, and Chelsea recently launched her beauty services entitled, SeeBare Beauty. During her free time, Chelsea also enjoys photography and modeling opportunities.

Ms. Jillian Keitt

Jillian Brianna Keitt is a proud alumna of Winthrop University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She majored in Human Development & Family Studies with a concentration in Adolescents. Jillian’s future plans are to obtain her Juris Doctorate so that she can become a family court lawyer. During her time at Winthrop University, some of her involvement included being a division leader of a community service organization, historian of Palmetto State Teachers Association, member of student council on family relations, and a member of Gamma Beta Phi National Honors and Service Society. Jillian is an Event Ambassador, with Topgolf Charlotte Southwest. In Jillian’s current role, she prides herself on planning and executing moments that matter for everyone. By doing this on a daily basis, she is able to connect with others in meaningful ways and grow herself personally and professionally. Jillian is the legacy of the loving Silver Star Felicia Keitt and proud daughter of Jamey Keitt.

Ms. Katherine Keitt

Katherine Keitt of Charlotte, NC has served as the Director of Health Information Management at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC for 6 years. Katherine’s career in Health Information Management spans over 31 years. Katherine holds a Bachelors of Science from Johnson C. Smith University, a Masters of Science from Pfieffer University, and a Masters of Science from the College of St. Scholastic. Katherine is a native of Forest City, NC where she grew up and is the youngest of 8 children. She is a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Katherine is an avid supporter of the PanCan Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer in honor of her sister who passed away in January 2022 from Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.

Ms. Tara King

Tara King is the proud principal of Wallace Gregg Elementary School, a Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Beacon School located in Florence One Schools. She is a veteran educator with over 19 years and served in several capacities. Most of her time as an educator was spent in Darlington County Schools. One position that will always be memorable to her is when she had the opportunity to serve as Comer Facilitator and execute the work of Dr. James Comer from Yale University that focused on the development of the whole child. Tara King received her Bachelor of Science degree from Francis Marion University, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University, and an Educational Specialist Degree with Superintendent Certification from South Carolina State University. She was featured in the PBS Documentary, 180 Days: Hartsville. Tara King is the daughter of Hester and John Jenkins, wife of her best friend Brent, and the blessed mother of Chad and Taren.

Mrs. Tonya McNair

Tonya Frazier McNair is the Deputy Director for Strategic Integration and Management at NASA HQ where she leads a dynamic team of engineers and program analysts. She has spent over 30 years managing Weapons/Combat Systems for the Navy and Human Spaceflight systems for NASA. Tonya graduated from NC Agricultural and Technical State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.S. in National Security Resource Strategy from the National Defense University. Tonya has been honored with the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Women of Color Technology All-Star honor, and multiple Navy and NASA leadership and team awards. She is a mentor, and an Advisory Board Member for NC A&T Center of Excellence for Production Design and Advanced Manufacturing. Tonya is wife to her college sweetheart Anthony, mother to sons DeMario (Vanessa) and Terrell, and "Lovie" to two beautiful granddaughters, Jada and Diana.

Mrs. Dana Mitchell

Dana Mitchell is an Environmental Engineer at Sonoco Products Company. She held over 5 years of experience working with government regulatory agencies in both Alabama and Georgia before moving onto a large corporation giving her a significant footing in Environmental Management. A native of Fairfield, California she currently resides in Florence. Dana earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tuskegee University. Dana has a passion for making a difference in the world and sustaining the Environment for generations to come. She enjoys being active in her community as she currently serves as Chapter Program Director for the Florence Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and innately cares for birthing people as a Maternal Support Practitioner under the alias, Doula Dana, working to combat the Black maternal mortality crisis. Dana relishes her active household with her husband Arin, 3 high-spirited children, 3 dogs, a guinea pig, and fish.

Ms. Shannon Nichols

Shannon Nichols is an Occupational Therapist healthcare provider for McLeod Health and MUSC Home Health facilities. Shannon earned two B.S. degrees from Albany State University and Georgia State University. Mrs. Nichols earned her MSOT from Keiser University. She was nominated for the AOTA INSPIRE award 2020, the Eleanor Clarke Slagle, and awarded the OTA Award of Merit in 2018. Shannon is the wife of Rodney, the mother to Josh who is 24 years old, along with two fur babies Caesar Tyrone and Penelope. Her hobbies include wine tasting, reading, and spending time with her friends.

Ms. Jana Praileau

Jana Adele’ Praileau is a devoted Caregiver for Right at Home. She began caregiving in 2021 working extensively with dementia patients. Jana earned a BS degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate. There she also earned her commission into the South Carolina Army National Guard as a Human Resource Officer. She plans to continue her education in Exercise Physiology. Jana currently serves as the 51st Military Police Battalion Recruitment and Retention Officer and lives by the words “embrace the uncomfortable to become unstoppable.”

Ms. Amberlee Scott

Amberlee V. Scott is the Assistant Principal of Instruction for Cary High School in Cary, North Carolina. For the past 11 years, she has played an integral part of shaping and molding the minds of her students in the Wake County Public School System. Amberlee has served as a classroom teacher, an advisor to several organizations and clubs, a chairperson for school improvement, and a school administrator. Amberlee is a proud HBCU graduate earning her Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education degree from Central State University. She is also a graduate of North Carolina State University where she earned her Master’s in School Administration. As a loving daughter, sister, auntie, and godmother, Amberlee enjoys spending time with her loved ones and also traveling. Amberlee lives by the motto, “If my mind can conceive it, and my heart believes it, then I can and will achieve it!”

Dr. Jeanette Shivers

Dr. Jeanette Shivers is a six grade English/Language Arts teacher at Johnson Middle School in Florence School District 4. She will be entering her thirty seventh year as a teacher at Southside Middle School for the 2022-23 school term. An independent published author, Dr. Shivers has published seven (7) books. Dr. Shivers earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with certification in Social Studies from Francis Marion University, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Teaching and Learning from Capella University. Dr. Shivers has been blessed to stand in the gap as a mother figure for two daughters Angela and Erika and is the proud “Granny” to Anna and Donovan “J.R.”

Ms. Ashton Simmons

Ashton Chantell Simmons, is a native of Florence South Carolina whose parents are Marcus and Cassandra Simmons. She is also the sister to rising college junior, Aaron Simmons. Ashton has earned a B.A. degree in Health Informatics from the University of South Carolina Upstate in May of 2021. As a current radiology receptionist at McLeod Health, Ashton has gained a sense of passion within the healthcare field with the desire to further her education within the upcoming year. Ashton has also earned her CNA license in which she also finds helpful in directing her towards her dream career goal. She devotes her free time to giving back to the community by volunteering for a local nonprofit organization by the name of My Brother’s Keeper Shelter.

Ms. Charisse Thomas

Charisse A. Thomas is from Effingham, South Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Francis Marion University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Purdue Global University. She later obtained her postgraduate certificate in Applied Behavioral Analysis. Driven by a strong desire to address educational and systemic issues for disabled South Carolinians, Charisse is currently employed by Disability Rights of South Carolina. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son, Morgan, and her dog Polly. She also likes to travel and make crafts on her Cricut.

Ms. Sherry Tucker

Sherry Lisa Tucker is an educator and humanitarian. She believes her life’s mission is to teach children and help them become productive citizens. Sherry is a 49-year veteran teacher and believes in giving, doing for, and helping others. Sherry earned her B.S. Degree from SCSU and her M.Ed. from Cambridge College in Boston. She's been honored several times to be listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Sherry was born in Manhattan, New York but has lived in Florence since she was a child. She has been teaching the past 38 years at North Vista Elementary. It’s the school she attended in the neighborhood she grew up in. Sherry is active in her church’s Women's Organization, where she serves as treasurer. She has always been an active member of Cumberland UMC as was her mother, grandmother, Great Grand Mother, and Great Aunt and Uncle who were also founding members.

Mrs. Samantha Willard

Samantha Coe Willard is a nurse practitioner at Caresouth Carolina in Dillon, South Carolina. She has been a nurse practitioner for 7 years and a registered nurse for over 19 years. Samantha earned her Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certificate from the University of South Carolina in 2015 and a Masters of Nursing and a Masters of Health Care Administration in 2012 from the University of Phoenix. She is a family nurse practitioner with experience in pediatrics, women’s health, and medication assisted treatment for patients who suffer from opioid addiction. Samantha also has a history as an educator at FDTC and FMU. Samantha is the proud wife of Theodore and grateful mother to Kourtney, Kayla and Khloe Willard.

Ms. Julie Williams

Julie Williams is fortunate to be a part of Savannah Grove. She has been working for Florence 1 Schools for twenty plus years as a SpEd Teacher, ABA, and now as a Counselor. Julie earned a B.A. from Coker University and a M.A. from Webster University. Her goal is to provide support in various ways involving emotional and mental health as well as self-care. Her purpose is to encourage, provide skills, and emotional support through effective counseling to help children who are struggling with negative behaviors. Julie is currently involved in an initiative program at Savannah Grove called WIN, “What I Need.” Julie provides a curriculum to students with social/ emotional learning needs. “I believe in meeting a child where they are.” Julie is the proud mother of two sons. Jailan, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and a graduate of College of Charleston, and Camren, a rising sophomore at the illustrious HBCU Tuskegee University.
