By 2050, there will be nearly 10 billion people living on this planet.

As these cities like magnets are growing into smarter systems, the population is also touching it’s height, the city will face crisis. If we continue with our current ways, all our food, water & energy to carry us all will be vanished. Are we creating the future we dream of?

Kakutasu, An urban intervene, acts as a catalyst that attempts to create an identity for Gurgaon by being self sufficient. It generate architecture that is not only iconic but adaptive to its user group, humans, by integrating with a mixed use Typology. Verb to Noun Developing The Catalyst. Understanding the scope and the scenario of the cultural intervention using strategic thinking to result in a design brief.

Strategy DANDA THOR Danda Thor is a type of cactus found in Aravalli Hills. As this type of cactus is available in aravalli hills, so this became our basis for study to began. This building has tried inculcate functions of cactus into building • • •

Spines collect rainwater and funnel water drops to the plant's roots. The stem acts as a reservoir; the plant will expand and contract depending on the amount of water it holds. Like other plants, it also makes it’s own food. So to fulfill these functions, • Water driven Breathing skin will be used to make room temperature normal • Fog Collector which will contribute in watering plants. • Terrace Farming will be done to provide veggies in retail.

FOG COLLECTOR • POLYPROPYLENE The fog harvesting net is made out of polypropylene, woven into a mesh. Polypropylene is a good fog harvesting material because as a low surface tension, this makes the mesh hydrophobic and as the fog passes through the net, the droplets roll off the repellent surface down to a collection tank.

Techniques Installed TERRACE FARMING •

Terrace farming is a method of farming whereby “steps” known as terraces are built onto the slopes of hills and mountains. •

This project has used the same concept, using it’s verticality for farming. •

Every section of farm will get different amount of sun, because of which plants can be grown according to there comfort amount of light •

The 7-meter tall SMOG FREE TOWER made of aluminium, uses patented positive ionisation technology to produce smog free air, allowing people to breathe and experience clean air. It is equipped with environment-friendly technology, cleans 30,000 m3 per hour and uses a 1170watts of green electricity. A Smog Free Ring will be derived from the Smog Free Tower.

By 2030, almost 60 percent of 8.3 billion people will live in cities, according to UN estimates. Almost 1400 of the world’s cities will have half a million or more inhabitants. Cities can connect people with opportunities, incubate innovation and foster growth, but they require urban planning, infrastructure, transport and housing. The main objective of BIOVEINS is to provide, together with local stakeholders, the knowledge to identify the critical features of green and blue infrastructure (GBI), to guide the establishment, management and restoration of GBI, and to mitigate the effects of major urban global challenges, like habitat fragmentation, air pollution, and urban heat islands. Connectivity of green and blue infrastructures: living veins for biodiverse and healthy cities. Flooding has been a problem since the city has started developing. The concrete roads, pavements are blocking the water to drain. There is a lack of artificial drainage system. There is a sharp difference in highest and lowest point on site (i.e.>90m). There are only two natural drains. Built is done without consideration for the natural topography leading to water logging.

8. Water bodies disappearing:

By 2011 the amount of water bodies in Gurgaon had become a third of what they were in 1971

9. Site Connectivity:
