INNOCENT CRY
Have you ever taken time to listen to the silent of night? Can you hear the voices of the innocent heart? Underneath the darkness amidst the cloud are hopes dieing Children, brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers are suffering From the cruelty of an unjust world man created Hoping to sustain through a long await night incapacitated Hoping life will be much better tomorrow Striving to live in a world free of unforeseen sorrow Unconsciously, love ones are resting for the night Who will ever thought these could be there last I have been sleepless trying to figure out Maybe tonight all my questions will be cast
Last night on my knees, I prayed for the world to be made right Many are spending the night in pain and regret Many are hungry going to bed, because no one out there cares at all No shelter to prevent the heart from heavy out pour In vain lives are lying six feet beneath With questions unanswered, trust broken and betrayed All is needed is a minute to listen to the innocent cry You and I can save a life today, if we both care enough to try All Rights Reserved (c) Akan E.
