LRMC TAKES BABY STEPS
Leesburg Regional Medical Center recently announced the hospital is participating in the 2017 Baby Steps to Baby Friendly project. The goal is to increase breastfeeding initiation and duration in Florida. The project is designed to implement and enhance the practices in maternity care to support and promote breastfeeding. The hospital recently completed all the mandated steps of the program.
“Completing the project means that we have earned a $20,000 grant from the state of Florida to be used for staff education and required projects for the final Baby Friendly designation,” says Sandra Mullin, director of LRMC’s Maternal Child Health Unit. The next phase is completing the Baby Friendly survey in August 2018.
