CONCEPT
Design driven by contrast. Inspired by Cobb’s unique existing exterior that distinguishes it from other buildings on campus.
SOLUTION
Visitors experience an emphasis of contrast by use of color, texture, & light to provide an unique viewing for all guests.

R ES EARCH & DE MOGRAPH IC S Lois Dowdle Cobb Museum of Archaeology provides exhibits & related opportunities for outreach education for the university community & the general public. University & school groups are encouraged to schedule group visits to the museum. Generally, about 2,500 people of all ages visit the museum annually.

Develop knowledge of hospitality design through renovation of 18 level boutique hotel located in Red Hook, NY.
CONCEPT
Design dedicated to Red Hook’s commitment to coalesce & its historical influence from France & 1920’s prohibition.
SOLUTION
Plush upholstery & ornate details draw inspiration from French salons. Rustic materials pay homage to community history.

C a t h e r i n e d e V i v o n n e ’s salon acted as a finishing school for women.
Salons provided a place for people to congregate & refine conversation.
Red Hook became one of the busiest ports in the US.

Employees need to focus, connect, rejuvenate, brainstorm, & learn throughout their workday. Not one type of space can effectively support the needs of a diverse group of individuals. A successful workplace should be designed as an ecosystem of zones. These are destinations where individuals have control over their work environment.
POSTURES : MOVEMENT + VARIETY
PRESENCE: PHYSICAL + VIRTUAL
PRIVACY: FOCUS + RELAXATION
The space should encourage movement throughout the day. Also allow options for people to sit, stand, or lounge.
The workplace should support happy interactions that are both local or from all over the world via technology.
Spaces should provide areas that offer various layouts to achieve privacy for both focus & rejuvenation.
VISIBILITY Design the space with open perimeters, transparent walls, & low partitions to provide a more inviting & connected environment.
VARIETY Incorporate informal collaboration spaces & alternative settings to the design. Provide access to privacy zones to reduces the need for private offices.
TECHNOLOGY Integrate technologies throughout the space to allow businesses to become agile & provide a better experience for employees & visitors.
AMENITIES Provide the right amenities to create greater employee engagement & reduce stress. This allows an growth in creativity, improves productivity, & increases profitability.
MINDFULNESS Design the space to support mental & physical restorative opportunities for staff throughout the day to improve overall morale & increase productivity.
