BIO FUEL ACTIVITIES IN KARNATAKA Karnataka is one among the few States in the country that has considered providing rural energy through renewable sources as one among its priority sectors. State constituted a Task Force in September, 2008 to formulate the policies so that a guiding document inclusive of R & D issues could be created for the development of bio fuels in Karnataka. The Task Force submitted its recommendations to the Government which resulted in the constituting the Karnataka State Bio Fuel Development Board (KSBDB) in 2010 under the Rural Development & Panchayat Raj department. 1 KSBDB
