COUNCIL HOUSING REGENERATION PLAN
Proposed typology
The houses in their existing form follow two types of typologies. Both motifs are based upon the Golden Ratio. Having those analogies in mind we resulted in creating surfaces which combining in different ways we ended up creating the new buildings.

COUNCIL HOUSING REGENERATION PLAN
The urban plan's main concepts the conversion of workers' housing into student campuses. The study site is located in Argostoli Kefalonia, near the Polytechnic Colleges. As the area has been downgraded the past few years, we propose making use of the housing projects and turning them into a student district. Thus renovating the current houses to fit the students needs, even building essential spaces for students such as a conference centre, Projection rooms, a theatre and spaces for cultural groups. The houses in their existing form follow two types of typologies. Both motifs are based upon the golden ratio.
Having those analogies in mind we resulted in creating surfaces which combined in different ways we ended up having the forms of the new buildings. We're making use of the terraces in creating suspended corridors connecting various parts together. Commercial venues are assembled around certain spaces mainly roads with intense activity, creating a new public area on the rooftops. In conclusion, the goal of our intervention is upgrading the area and creating a new core of cultureand socialization.

COUNCIL HOUSING REGENERATION PLAN
The types of roofs present a rather contradictory character, on one hand there's the ability for someone to see the continuity of whole area and on the other there's the natural structure of the city which could make the movement of a visitor quite restricted. Looking at the city as a whole could disconnect the spectator from it and let him escape from his everyday routine.

THE ROUND HOUSE
The main concept of the building is to separate the spaces in living spaces and private ones. This distinction of the spaces is apparent from the outside of the building as the structure is two semicircles sliding across a linear wall. As you approach the residence you can see the semicircle with the living spaces facing the main road. The bedrooms and the more private spaces are placed to the back of the house for more privacy.

KEY FEATURES The entrance of the house is indicated by a gate to the main linear wall but it is actually done from the back of the house giving someone the chance to have a full preview of the house. The kitchen is the central core of the house surrounded by a curved wall. As you enter the residence your eye follows the curved wall and the space is revealed slowly as you walk in, just like in the medieval town . The curved wall is a typo trombe wall functioning as a heat store .
The fire place is also positioned in the centre of the house enhancing the idea of the fire being the core of the house and everything is built around it. The external space is coming in the house by a small hidden garden-atrium connecting this way the living spaces with the private spaces and it is also an opening for the kitchen. There is a break out space to the corridor where the bedrooms are, creating an informal dining space or reading while facing the atrium.

MUSIC SCHOOL
The site is located near the entrance of the city, the main design concept was to create an open plan building .The building is a continue folding and unfolding of the slab that in some spaces creates the teaching spaces and in others the public spaces like , cafes, library and concert hall. At the top floor the slab slopes and it creates an open theater that people can sit there and enjoy the view to the sea.

RICHMOND HILL
It was requested by the school to create a small extension around 250m2 for Key stage 1 pupils. The proposed development has taken into consideration the appearance of other properties in the area along with features of the existing building (as colours and materials). Attention has been given to design and materials. The development represents an appropriate scale for this building and sits comfortably alongside surrounding school buildings. The proposed extensions will not be any higher than the ridge of the existing roofs. The extension will provide additional teaching space at ground floor level comprising of the following: Two classrooms Staff room Group teaching room Auxiliary spaces
The design of the outdoor space is done in such a way so as to create spaces for planting, spaces for outdoor playing areas and to enable easy access to all entrances of the school and tie up the whole design. The design of the elevations is minimal with vibrant colours to indicate the school character of the building. The windows are put in different positions to indicate the different age groups that are using the building. A very important key feature of the elevations is the break out spaces created by using deep windows that allows pupils and teachers to sit there. Using the school for formal and informal teaching, brings the students closer to it. The elevations of the building have this way the most characteristic feature for a school building‌its own pupils.
