General Thoughts about Future People argue whether the future will be utopian or dystopian. From my point of view, the future will be a combination of both. Human beings will always be motivated to achieve utopia. However, some improvements in technology are critical and may fail to act as planned thus we may face dystopian time. Adding to that, not all people will be able to afford or have access to all types of technology and inventions. In rich countries, automation and technology revolution will continue. Rich countries will build Utopian- like cities and societies. As Dr. Michio Kaku’s said “computers will be everywhere and nowhere,” computers will be in walls, fabrics, our glasses lenses, etc. our glasses and contact lenses will have full internet capability, where we can search for things, they would recognize people we see, they will show us different information for the places we visit, etc. All buildings and transportations will be intelligent and smart. On the other hand, due to the significant amount of money governments will spend to build these futuristic heaven-like cities, there will be more poverty and scarcity in the countryside.
6 INTRODUCTION
Rentism future Rentism is a future model which is based on the concept of “intellectual property,” in which people must rent and pay the owner for all services, patterns, and objects they are using. The idea of Intellectual property gives owners the right to protect their ideas. So, they tell others how to use copies of their ideas or patterns. In other words, hierarchy is one of the main aspects of this worlds. Owners are the “ruling class,” who control patents and copyrights. Workers are the middle and low class who work for owners and pay for all services and patterns. In this system, people who get someone to give them a replicator will break the law and be in legal trouble. Moreover, People must pay a licensing fee whenever they do anything with the replicator. The rights in a Rentism society belong to few people, and it belongs to hierarchy. Jobs will be divided into owners, workers, lawyers, marketers, and guards. Rentism Pros and Cons One of the main advantages of this system is that people will be motivated to invent new things to replicate. However, the amount of people who would be able to do creative inventions, services and patterns are limited. Another negative fact is that companies will keep suing each other to protect their copyrights. As a result, more lawyer jobs will be available.

RESEARCH STUDIES
This chapter covers different studies about precedents that helped us to know more about the future, especially “Rentism future. Case studies were based on various topics that define some interior and exterior characteristics about the assigned futures. Topics are city planning, Buying, selling, Healthcare, work, and display.

Above, “E.P.C.O.T” painting by Herbert Ryman. Walt Disney planned to build a one of a kind project composed of several elements: a prototype community, an airport of the future, an industrial park and a shopping center. He wanted this city to bring his patented magic to life. According to the EPCOT film, the “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.” will be the community of tomorrow that will never be completed, but will always be introducing, testing, and demonstrating new materials and systems. The city was based on a radial plan, a design inspired by the Garden City Movement of urban planning. The city was planned to radiate out like a wheel from a central core. The town was divided into various levels as shown in the drawing on the right. The radial plan and the flow of traffic going from the center to the sides of “the View” project were inspired by EPCOT

Eatsa changed the retail experience in a better way by the use of technology and the innovation of new system platform. Customers do not need to wait so long to get their healthy meal. Meals get prepared in 90 seconds on average. In weekends it takes maximum 2 to 3 minutes to get your meal.
In the Rentism world, restaurants like Eatsa will be more familiar due to technology development. However, the software platform will be owned by an owner and all restaurants will rent the system. Moreover, people should pay more because in this world people should pay for all services and patterns.

Winsun, the leader of global 3D printing architecture, was founded in China in July 2003 which is a high-tech enterprise that first truly achieves 3D printing architecture in the world. They built various commercial and residential projects using 3d printing technology. Analysis Study: 3D printing is more efficient because it saves time, money and waste. In this study, I compared between two residential projects with concrete structures one is 3D printed, and the other is built by traditional methods. To build a complete home using traditional methods it takes 20 days to 7 months on average. However, with the use of technology and 3D printers, this amount of time could decrease to one day to build a finished house. A 3D 450-meter square single house will cost approximately $10,000. However, the same size as any concrete houses will cost $30,000 to $90,000 based on finishes. The most significant advantage of 3D built homes is that there is no waste of materials. However, the amount of waste in traditional building methods is more than 5% of the materials used in this technology. 3D printed houses use 40% of materials used in traditional houses.

NXT health developed a proposal of a future patient room. Patient room 2020, is a prototype for the next generation of the hospital room. It was built in 2015. The room is technologically driven. The goal of this project is to create a comfortable environment. The bathroom is wide open with a clean and unique design. The floor has a computer mat underneath that tracks patient’s steps and it will send alarms to the nurse station. There is a hidden computer in the wall in a folded drawer it has all patient’s information. There are UV lights in drawers that kills any germs. On the ceiling above the bed, there is a big screen that has a future computer system. The bedside table has a builtin iPad that connects the patient to the room and the outside world. Patients also could control and choose the light mode from this iPad. n the Rentism future, as it is shown in the collage, patient rooms will vary based on how much the patient can pay. Each hospital will have several rooms with different rental prices. Services will be provided base the amount of money that patients will be able to pay.

Dubai Frame is located in Dubai UAE. The structure is shaped in the form of a photo frame. It is designed by Fernando Donis. The concept of the project is to frame the existing landmarks. It is located in the middle area between old Dubai and the new landmarks. The tower is a sky deck providing views of old and new Dubai. There are various display types such as augmented reality screens, 3d screens, and smart glass flooring. The “traditional Dubai exhibition” shows the traditional lifestyle using technology, music, and lights that help visitors to live the experience. However, the “Future Dubai Gallery is on the other side of the mezzanine level. This concept zooms into the future - Dubai 50 years from now - the virtual metropolis, through virtual reality and interactive projections.” The various interesting ways of displaying the view of the city inspired me. Using technology, light and sounds help visitors to live the experience. However, The primary goal of my project “The View” is to show all classes of a Rentism society. Technology and the structure of the building will help visitors to see poor and wealthy communities.

THE VIEW
18 THE VIEW PROJECT
The View is a building located in a high point in the Rentism world. The structure is meant to be climbed and explored. The design of the structure and the way it wraps and rises to the sky allows people to observe and engage with the view of the city. The process of building this structure is inspired by Rentism scenario. In this world, people who have power are people who own patterns and services. The pattern of making this structure was formed by hand then modeled using technology and covered with foil and Nylon. The structure is computer operated so that it could be copied or duplicated. The additional materials add richness to the structure. A platform will transfer visitors from lower levels of the tower to the middle of The View structure. The form is designed in a radial direction, so people will walk around the center moving towards the upper level. All surfaces of the structure are inhabitable. The Nylon material stretches and creates various seating units. When people reach the top, they would be able to discover 360 degrees of the view of the city. The upper level is designed so people can sit, stand or lay down and enjoy the view
