Funding secured for Sprout Fiber Internet

Cullman Electric Cooperative took a huge step in continuing its mission of bringing high-speed internet to all Cullman EC members.

The co-op was recently awarded a $4,579,716.92 grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs to help move the Sprout Fiber Internet project forward.

Eventually, more than 1,300 households, 33 businesses and 23 anchor institutions in Cullman,

Morgan and Winston counties will have access to the fastest broadband available. Many of these areas will be a part of the 2024 expansion plan which will be announced this fall.

None of this progress would be possible without the dedication and hard work of Cullman EC employees during this grant application process. The co-op is grateful to all of the local representatives and state legislators who have taken action in helping move this project forward.
