Baldwin EMC recognizes employees for service milestones

Morethan any tool, truck or technology, a cooperative like Baldwin EMC thrives thanks to the dedication of its employees. At a time when terms such as "quiet quitting" and "the great resignation" dominate job market trends, honoring that dedication has never been more important.

According to Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Americans resigned from employment by the millions per month in the final quarter of 2021, making high turnover a common theme for most businesses.

Fortunately, that was not the case at Baldwin EMC. In fact, more than ten percent of the company's employees celebrated milestone anniversaries with the cooperative in 2022.

Five Years

In honor of those accomplishments, during Baldwin EMC's annual Safety and Service Awards luncheon in December, 25 employees and trustees were recognized for reaching their 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th and 35th work anniversaries.

The years of service recognized totaled 410, an accomplishment that Baldwin EMC Chief Executive Officer Karen Moore says shouldn’t be taken lightly.

“We can purchase the best tools and equipment and invest in state of the art technology, but there is absolutely no substitute for the energy and commitment our people bring to the cooperative,” Moore says. "They are our greatest asset and deserve to be honored not just once a year, but every day."
