At its essence, Baldwin EMC’s mission is to provide safe, affordable and reliable electricity to its member-owners. But equally important is every worker returning home safely to their families when the work day is over.
Year after year, electric linework is rated among the top 15 most dangerous careers in America. That’s why the co-op's number one value is safety, and every employee is encouraged to contribute to Baldwin EMC's proactive safety culture.
On December 15, 2022, Baldwin EMC celebrated employees' dedication and commitment to safety during a luncheon recognizing more than one year of safe hours worked at the cooperative. Employees representing every department at the cooperative were called forward to receive certificates recognizing each department’s safety records.

“We can’t just talk about safety some times,” says Mark Ingram, vice president of corporate services and public relations at Baldwin EMC. “We have to talk about it all the time, because when it comes to safety, the job is never done. The success of our safety program depends on employees committing themselves to working safely every minute of every day.”
