Blue Book and Mail Ballot

Louie Ward Manager of Tallapoosa River Electric

We recently mailed everyone what we commonly call a “Blue Book.” We call it this because it is a small blue paper book with information regarding Tallapoosa River Electric’s finances and operations. Also contained in the “Blue Book” is a ballot that you can return to an independent auditor approving the re-election of trustees from districts 3 and 6 and a needed change in the Cooperative’s Bylaws. The Bylaw change is recommended by the Cooperative’s attorney to better align the bylaw wording with current state law. The information we mailed should be fairly self-explanatory. Should it not be, please call us.

In other news, we expect to have an auction of surplus equipment on Thursday, September 7. We will have more information in next month’s Alabama Living and you can check our website www.trec.coop early next month for more information. At this auction, we will have a few trucks we are retiring and several lots of used poles. Again, more information will be in next month’s Alabama Living and on our website around the first of next month.

The Board of Directors for Tallapoosa River Electric Cooperative (TREC) has changed how it will hold the Annual Meeting this year. There will be no in-person meeting of the membership. In lieu of the traditional in-person gathering of the membership, a mail in ballot, like the one pictured, will be included with our “Blue Book.” This ballot will be returned to a third party for tabulation and each member who returns a ballot will receive a $10 bill credit.
