H.E. Issam A. Almarzooq Minister of Oil, Electricity & Water, State of Kuwait Chairman of the Board, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation

On behalf of the Government of Kuwait, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all guests, delegates, and exhibitors who have joined us for the Society of Petroleum Engineers 3rd Kuwait Oil & Gas Show and Conference - KOGS 2017 - which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak AlHamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait. The introduction of technological innovations and their efficient application, staying informed of market developments, and sharing knowledge is critical to the success of the oil and gas industry. KOGS 2017 facilitates an important exchange between industry leaders, experts, stakeholders, and oil and gas professionals as we look to the energy future.

The high level conference under the theme “Shaping the Energy Future: Integration and Diversification incorporates a ministerial panel, executive plenary session, 4 panel sessions, 7 special sessions, 3 technical special sessions and over 100 technical and e-poster sessions; whose professional insights and case studies will no doubt be of great benefit to all delegates.

The parallel exhibition features more than 200 exhibitors from 20 countries worldwide. It serves as an important showcase for the latest technologies whilst acting as a conduit for the strategic collaborations and healthy competition that helps drive us forward. Out of the many participants, we are honoured to receive GCC national oil companies, international oil companies, supermajors, service industry giants, national groups and numerous other specialists from across the globe at this exceptional event. I would like to congratulate and thank the KOGS 2017 conference committee chaired by Mr. Nizar M. Al-Adsani, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, and the organisers for all their hard work and enthusiasm in producing such an all-inclusive event. I am also honoured to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to His Highness the Prime Minister for his continuous support. My sincere best wishes for a successful conference and exhibition, and a pleasant stay in Kuwait.

H.E. Issam A. Almarzooq

RAPTOR™ 2.0 SYSTEM

YOUR SECOND SHOT AT BOOKING MORE RESERVES

© 2017 Weatherford. All rights reserved.

There’s more out there. The only questions are where and how much. Built with the world’s largest detector array, the Raptor 2.0 casedhole evaluation system reveals exactly what’s behind your casing. Working in a mature field, our customer used the system to revise their reservoir model, identify bypassed oil and gas reserves, and correct the historical openhole data. They then verified the saturation results by production testing the three wells. Each one produced exactly as indicated by the Raptor 2.0 system. Discover what you’ve missed at weatherford.com/Raptor2.0.

Networking and Mentoring to Build Beneficial Relationships Sunday, 15 October 2017 0800–1500 hours

Course Description Networking is one of the most powerful tools for accelerating and sustaining successful careers. Networking is about making the right connections and building beneficial relationships. Learn how to grow your networking skills to influence change and to build collaborative relationships in order to add value for both your career and for your employer. Mentoring will always be an integral part of our development—this relationship-based process for the transmission of knowledge (relevant to work, career or professional development) will enable us to gain personal and professional skills needed to face the challenges ahead. Its importance becomes evident as we recognise the value of networking, advice and support a mentor can give us when developing a quality and healthy relationship. Building fluency in the and teamwork.

Instructor Maria Angela Capello, M.Sc., Distinguished Lecturer and Member of SPE; Lifetime Member of SEG, is an experienced advisor for the oil and gas industry, with over 33 years of experience, expert in field development and transformational management strategies. She has launched innovative implementations in Latin America, USA and the Middle East. She is currently an executive advisor in Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), where she coordinates the standardisation of reservoir management best practices across the company. Additionally, she is the strategic lead advisor of the Professional Women Network of the eight companies in the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation holding. Previously, she worked at Halliburton and PDVSA. A M.Sc. from the Colorado School of Mines (USA), Maria is a Distinguished Member and Distinguished Lecturer of the SPE. She is the Editor of JPT (Field Development) for SPE. She is a Life Member of SEG, and served as SEG Vice-President, SEAM Board of Directors and SEG Council member.

Gulf Drilling & Maintenance Company (GDMC) was established in 1982 as a wholly owned private Kuwaiti company to service the petroleum and water well sectors. Early activities included water well drilling and related operations. Soon an opportunity emerged to start slick line operations which grew with the market. During the early 1990s GDMC expanded into the coiled tubing and basic pumping business. GDMC later added well testing services, well head maintenance and cased hole logging as complimentary services, whilst continuing to add more capacity to the coiled tubing division along with nitrogen pumping services. The present philosophy is to continue to grow our core service lines both in Kuwait and in near geographic countries, whilst adding technical knowhow and expertise by partnering (JV, agency agreements etc.) with external technology companies and smaller “best in class” service companies to provide options for our customers or new solutions away from the major integrated service companies.

Kuwait Drilling Company

Kuwait Drilling Company (KDC) was established in 1963 as a joint venture between Santa Fe International Corporation USA and a consortium of Kuwaiti businessmen. Today, KDC is a subsidiary of the Contracting and Marine Services Company and Santa Fe’s share is held by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). Santa Fe’s initial involvement provided access to experienced rig crews and advanced technical know-how when operations commenced in 1965. This ability to harness external expertise was reinforced when we entered into a technical services agreement with Parker Drilling Company of the USA. Since 1965 KDC has drilled more than 2,150 wells in Kuwait and the Divided Zone on behalf of the KPC-owned Kuwait Oil Company and the Kuwait-Saudi entity Joint Operations. Our experience encompasses a wide variety of vertical, horizontal and deviated well drilling assignments to depths ranging from 4,700 to 22,235 feet. Our expertise covers drilling for exploration, development and work-over purposes, and includes mobile rig operations, deep test drilling for natural gas and offshore jack-up rigs. Currently we are expanding our modern fleet of 750 to 3000hp shallow drilling and work-over, intermediate and deep drilling rigs to service the ever-expanding scale of our operations.
