uscat’s envious climate has hot summers with temperatures during the day reaching 38°C, with night time lows of 29°C, while spring and autumn remains warm-to-hot, with day temperatures between 29-35°C and evening temperatures around 21°C. Winters are also a great time to visit, offering day temperatures of around 24°C, dropping to a pleasant 16°C in the evening. However, temperatures in Salalah do not exceed 27°c year-round and the mountains also remain cooler in comparison year-round. Spa and golf are just a couple of activities that are popular for travellers in both summer and winter, with many of the larger hotels offering a wide range of spa treatments and facilities. In terms of golf, Muscat now offers three 18-hole grass golf courses with more developments to be unveiled in the not too distant future. Oman's climate makes golf a particularly popular activity between September and May. An adventurous streak... For clients looking for unique activities away from the norm, Oman is an adventurer's dream. Those interested
in nature can explore the country's plentiful mountains, canyons, caves, deserts, island, lagoons and wildlife reserves, while those seeking an adrenaline fix can take part in activities ranging from scuba diving, hiking and trekking to kite surfing, surfing and off-roading. Alternatively, older clients as well as families might be interested to hear that Oman offers a whole host of cultural sights and places of interest - from museums and forts to traditional villages and archaeological and religious sites. Other destinations worth a mention are Empty Quarter and Wahiba Sands. A stay in the desert lends itself well to those seeking a Bedouin lifestyle in a tented camp. More and more operators are capitalising on increased demand and have added a range of tour options and excursions to discover the country's natural beauty outside of Muscat. Customised and bespoke itineraries are also gaining rapid interest and options to visit native Bedouin families and picturesque Wadis are among the most popular, along with nature watching including birds, turtles, dolphins and whales.

Muscat and Salalah man's capital was historically three smaller towns which have grown together over the years to form modern day Muscat. The three original cities encompassed Muscat, often referred to as the 'walled city'; Mutrah, originally a fishing village; and Ruwi, which was generally considered as the commercial and diplomatic centre of the city. Muscat is surrounded by a wall on its southern and western sides. The wall, with its round towers, was built in 1625, while the mountains and the Gulf of Oman form Muscat's natural walls to the north and east. Being the most popular destination

for UK visitors to Oman speaks volumes and there's little that people can't choose to do in this magnificent city. The old city offers a mix of modern and traditional buildings including the Royal Opera House and Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. A quick way to visit the city is on a Big Bus Tour. Outside of the central business district (CBD), which houses a plethora of restaurants, shopping, nightlife and entertainment, there are plenty of places to discover along the main highway that heads north east. The Sultan Qaboos Highway takes visitors past many areas including Seeb, Sohar and eventually to Khasab, the capital of Musandam, and each offers its own unique sights and an insight into the real Oman.

Aside from the historical sights and attractions the city offers, Salalah also guarantees a wide choice of activities and tours to recommend to clients. From whale, dolphin, flamingo and birdwatching to frankincense trails and visiting natural parks like Wadi Darbat, which offers majestic views of waterfalls, lakes, mountains and caves, plus the stunning valley of Wadi Darbat, there's certainly no shortage of things to do and places to visit.
or travellers who are looking to step 'off-thebeaten-track' and explore some of the lesser known regions of Oman, then cities such as Salalah are worthy of their attention. Located in the south of Oman, Salalah is often considered to be the 'second city' of the Sultanate, and is historically famous for its frankincense trade and annual Khareef Festival, which celebrates the monsoon. The most popular places of interest include Sultan Qaboos Palace, Al-Husn Souk and the Haffa Souk, and it's the city's historical and cultural background that plays a pivotal role in delineating
