We have showcased a number of Container Home Projects over the past year that have used a similar “Hybrid Construction Method” ie a blend of 2 x Parallel Aligned Type 1A 40’ High Cube Containers and Traditional Construction Frame Out of an Atrium but today’s Container Home Project built by Justin McErlain and Cyndia Hilliger in Wynyard Tasmania truly sets a new benchmark for this style of Container Home when it comes to high quality Internal Design and Fitout. This project is actually a set of two near identical Container Homes built as Boutique Riverside Accommodation called “ Coastal Pods” an extension to an existing Motel The Waterfront Wynyard.

Every now and then a Container Home Project comes along that is virtually mandatory review for anyone interested in the Container Construction Method.
Each pod has a luxury main bathroom area one with imported sustainably sourced teak shower bench & double vanities the other with large bath and rain shower. Each bedroom has king sized beds - one bed can be split into king singles for twin configuration. The ample lounge/dining areas are luxuriously furnished with seating for up to 6 people adjoined by the galley kitchen cooking facilities. The remote controlled opening windows in the atrium can be opened to adjust temperature flow and maximise thermal properties of the design, minimising need for power generated heating and cooling or via the heat pump if you prefer.

The master bedroom is equipped with rain shower ensuite, TV and private deck area and the second bedroom with separate master luxury wet area bathroom with rain shower and hand held jet shower plus heated towel rails.
