Visitor Center Rio Chama- New Mexico Academic project- Fall 2017 Master Architectural Design I – 601
Group Project of Two students. Alan Ameen Ivan Spartte My Role: Participating in every small detail of the project with my partner, by having all the design decisions together, and working on every part of the project together.
Visitor Center Rio Chama- New Mexico Academic project Location: Choosing this location on the site is based on several reasons. One of the reasons is the two main views that the location provides. Since it is on the narrowest part of the peninsula it allows for greater views of the river. The location also allows for most of the trees on the site to be left alone. Concept: The form of this building derived from Datura seed pod. It is focusing on one quarter of the seed pod which allows for this shape to form. At the end of its life cycle, the seed pod loses its spikes and openings are left over. These openings are then applied to the surface of the form. To make a 3-dimensional form, the flat plane was cut and bent. Extra pieces were added to fill in the gaps to create a difference between solid and void. The function of the spikes that appear in the life cycle of the plant is to protect the plant from external threats like animals. By flipping the form upside down, the spikes now become the structure of the form. The spikes support the interlocking layers of the form.

The Voronoi pattern has been applied to the roof layer to achieve space for the columns and apertures. The larger openings in the surface will allow for larger columns to hold up space over the open gallery area. The larger openings over the gallery space will also allow for more light to enter the space, while the smaller apertures will be over smaller spaces

eco-Mod 6 Shotgun house Albuquerque- New Mexico Academic project Location: This project owned by Central New Mexico Community College. located on oxford Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM.
Concept: This design consists of four rectangular shifted modules, each module has about 250 square feet and the connection areas between those modules represent the circulation spaces.
