General Information

The following information will answer many of your questions about the details of your cruise. For additional information, please call American Cruise Lines at 800-814-6880.

Departure Ports: All departure ports are located near major airports. Transportation between the airport and ship may be available for an additional charge. Parking is available at all departure locations at nearby commercial garages or lots at a reasonable weekly rate.

Departure Times: Cruises depart at 1:30 p.m. or earlier if all passengers have arrived. Passengers may board after 11:30 a.m. Crew members will carry your luggage to your stateroom. Passengers are recommended to arrive no later than 12:30 p.m. Cruises sometimes return the evening before the last day of the cruise, and passengers may stay on board until 8:30 a.m. on the last day. Breakfast is served on the last day of every cruise.

All-American: American Cruise Lines offers a unique experience that emphasizes the history and culture of the United States. American Cruise Lines is an American company and operates ships which are built and registered in the United States. Additionally, all crew members and employees are Americans.

Reservations: Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible to ensure the availability of the cruise and stateroom choice.

Fare: American Cruise Lines, Inc.’s per person fare includes passage, dining service, snacks, complimentary cocktail parties, and entertainment aboard the ship. Fares do not include most shore excursions (unless otherwise noted) or port charges and fees. Guests are not expected to leave a gratuity on board.

Shore Excursions: Every American Cruise Lines shore excursion falls into one of three categories: 1) FEATURED shore excursions are complimentary. Featured excursions are selected excursions which typically are offered daily on Columbia & Snake River, Mississippi River, and Alaska Cruises. 2) PREMIUM shore excursions typically cost between $20 and $70 and may be purchased on board with your Hotel Manager. 3) SIGNATURE shore excursions are particularly unique excursions with limited availability and which often cost more than $70. We recommend that you reserve these excursions in advance with your Cruise Specialist. Single Occupancy: Single cabins are available on all ships. If one person chooses to occupy a double stateroom he/she will be charged 150% or 175% of the double occupancy rate depending on the type of stateroom occupied.

Deposits and Payments: A deposit of $500.00 per person is required to confirm any reservation on trips of 9 nights or less, and a deposit of $900.00 per person is required to confirm any reservation on trips of 10 nights or more. Final payment is due 90 days prior to the sailing date. Any Reservation made within 90 days of the departure date must be accompanied by full payment and is subject to Cancellation Terms. What to Bring: Casual sportswear is suggested during the day. Casual country club attire is recommended in the evenings and for dinner. Comfortable walking shoes, windbreaker, sweater for cool evenings, and light rainwear are also recommended items.110-volt household current is available in all staterooms for electric appliances.

Dining Service: Meals are served in the spacious dining salon, which accommodates all passengers at one seating. The day’s menu is announced well in advance, and consists of fresh meats and seafood, as well as in-season fruits and vegetables. Special menus are available to passengers on restricted diets. Most special dietary needs can be accommodated, though advance notice is appreciated. All meals are prepared to order. Coffee, nonalcoholic beverages, and snacks are available 24 hours a day.

Itineraries and Sailings: American Cruise Lines Inc., does not guarantee departure point, termination point or any intermediate stop. Itineraries, schedules, routes, ships, and staterooms are always subject to change at any time without notice due to weather conditions, availability of docks, shoaling, river conditions, operation of locks, mechanicals, or any other reason. The times and dates of departure and arrival are also subject to change. Some Intracoastal Waterway cruises may travel coastwise at times. The Mississippi River between St. Paul and St. Louis has particularly fickle river conditions which may require last minute itinerary changes.

TV and Internet: All ships are equipped with satellite TV and wireless internet. Internet and TV service can be intermittent, particularly in remote areas.

Passenger Cancellation Terms: Cruise cancellation protection is recommended and available. For information on the Cancel For Any Reason Protection Plan, contact American Cruise Lines, Inc. Cancellation of your cruise package must be received by American Cruise Lines at its office in Guilford, CT in writing. Only written cancellations will be accepted and should be sent by mail or by email to reservations@ americancruiselines.com. All cancellations will incur a nonrefundable $250.00 per person

The cancellation administrative charge of $250 per passenger may be applied as a courtesy discount toward fare for a future cruise reserved with American Cruise Lines, Inc. within one year of the cancellation date. Fees paid for the Cancel For Any Reason Protection Plan are non-refundable. For cancellations relating to group bookings, passengers should refer to the group booking agreement for terms and conditions.

Changing Your Cruise: You may request changing your cruise itinerary or departure date up to 91 days are equipped with handicapaccessible rooms. Most ships’ lounges, sun decks, and dining salons are accessible by wheelchairs or other walking aid devices. Safety Features: American Cruise Lines, Inc.’s ships are equipped with safety, navigation and communications systems, including defibrillators and oxygen. All American Cruise Lines, Inc.’s ships are U.S.-flagged, certified and regularly inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Public Health Service and the Federal Communications Commission.

Terms & Conditions of Passage: Passenger’s rights and obligations relating to all cruises are set out in the “Terms & Conditions of Passage.” By booking a cruise with American Cruise Lines, Inc., you agree to the Terms & Conditions of Passage, which can be found at www.americancruiselines.com/terms or mailed to you upon request.

Pre-Cruise Hotels & Transportation: Complimentary pre-cruise hotels and transportation are for new bookings only on select 2022-2024 cruises. Cruise reservation must be deposited 30 days or more prior to departure date. Hotel will be selected and reserved by American Cruise Lines. Transportation will be provided on the morning of your cruise from the hotel to the ship. Package does not include transportation to the hotel. Hotel selections are subject to change and based on availability.
