Emma’s Success As the breeder of ‘Tom’, I was particularly pleased to hear of Emma's success. Many local people will remember his full brother ‘Danny Dimples’ with whom both Matthew and Rebecca, my son and daughter, had so much fun and success. He is still competing at Pony Club level and enjoying life at the age of 24. Ann Morris from Mulberry Farm has 2 half brothers, Dundee and Rocky, to these 2 ponies, both by the same sire. Last year they won several trophies between them, giving her great pleasure of ownership. As she said, "Ron would have been so proud of them all", as indeed I am. I still own Tom's mother. She lives in Allesley, shepherding thoroughbred yearlings so they do not get into too much mischief, although she is a diminutive little critter of only 12 hands. Although I no longer breed ponies, I do enjoy seeing all the local equestrians, in whatever sphere they enjoy their equines. It is to be hoped that the ‘powers that be’ do not take away the ruralism of our area and make it impossible for us all to take pleasure from this harmless pursuit. Linda Mayne We have just heard that ‘Rosa’, Tom and Danny's Mother died in her sleep a few weeks ago. (Ed)

Wildflower Project The WI wildflower project along the verges of the footpath extending from Wykin Lane alongside the cemetery is beginning to "bare fruit". Already many primroses have appeared in full bloom as well as a tiny cowslip - and a red campion is slowly emerging. Further up the path the pond has calthus flowers. Watch out for more, now spring is here. Sue Mitchell
