5839 setup on Vista 10P/15P/20P/21ip Family panels 1. Panel must be programmed to look for wireless receiver. Enter a house ID in *24. Partitioned panels must have a House ID in all partitions, and it should be different in all partitions. Example *24 = 01,02,03. Enable 5839 keypad address in panel programming. Example, Keypad #23 enabled in field *196 in the panel. Be sure to pick an address that is not being used by any other device. 2. Make sure all dip switches on the 5883H are off except for Dip Switch #6. 3. Put Vista control into RF Go-No-Go mode. Installer code + [#] + [4]. Wait 1 minute. 4. Power up 5839 by pressing [!] key, display will prompt you “Waiting for mesg” 5. Hold down [1] & [3] keys, display will show black rectangles across screen, continue until prompt shows: 5839 Rev. n.n. US Options? *=Y #=N Press [!] to enter programming; 6. Setup? * = Y # = N Press [*] for yes. 7. ECP Addr? * = Y # = N

8. Enter your keypad address from the chart. An example, to make the keypad address 23 enter 07 then press *. You may need to press [!] a couple of times to get ID from the 5883. 9. This prompt comes up when site ID has been received “nnnnnn” is ID number given by 5883. ID: nnnnnn * = Done # = N Press * to accept 10. Keypad will display Setup? * = Y # = N Press [#] to move forward and answer the other setup questions as desired. 11. When you get back to this screen

12. Press the 1 and 3 together display will show black rectangles across screen, continue until prompt shows press ["] to exit. Press the #. 13. Keypad should show “Waiting for message”. Take control out of go no go test mode. Press * on 5839 and you should get status. -1-
