Announcing the 2022 Alberta HONEY & HIVE PRODUCTS competition

The ABC is once again partnering with Farmfair International to bring you the 2022 Alberta Honey Show, an annual competition that recognizes award-winning honey and hive products that are being produced right here in Alberta.

Now in its 3rd year, the Alberta Honey Show aims to recognize the unique qualities, flavour profiles, styles, and product innovations happening across the Alberta beekeeping and honey industry.

NEW Honey Sale Opportunity for Participants

Farmfair International is excited to announce that this year as part of the Alberta Honey Show there will be an opportunity for all those that enter the competition to participate in a FREE onsite honey trade show! Exhibitors will be provided with one (1) 6” skirted table and two (2) folding chairs in the gallery of the Edmonton Expo Centre, with all Alberta Honey Show class winners provided with a tabletop sign to identify their champion status.

There are five classes of entry plus an overall ‘Best in Show’ class that includes $500 in prize money.

Classes of entry include:

1. LIQUID HONEY

2. CREAMED HONEY

3. FLAVOURED HONEY

4. HIVE PRODUCTS – Personal Care: lip balm, body butter, etc.

5. HIVE PRODUCTS – Innovation: bees wax wraps, fire starters, furniture polish etc.

Each class will be awarded a first, second and third place and all winners will receive a ribbon and prize money, plus have their winning entries showcased on display at the 2022 Farmfair International event that is taking place at the Edmonton EXPO Centre from November 9 to 12, 2022.
