Albert Bonay. Barcelona 1990 Bonay possesses an degree in Fine Arts from the Universitat de Barcelona and studied a year in l’Accademia di belle arti di Brera in Milan before enrolling in a Master of Documentary Photography and Contemporary Creation in IDEP, which he chose in order to amplify his expressive resources. Through the plastic arts, Bonay proposes cognitive enigmas in which he confronts differing levels of representation: abstract and figurative, symbolic and literal. Central to these are the concepts of space, the fleeting nature of time and briskly appearing, evasive geometric figures. He pulls from diverse bibliographic references and themes ranging from mass media, art history and his own imagination… The classicism inherent in his work and the very break with this style that is also present denote both the technical control and will to shatter canons that Bonay exercises to visually create his own conception of the world. He has worked as a professor of art and has shown in galleries including: Lina Valero, Corretger 5, Grand Marché d’Art Contemporain of Bastille, Centro de Arte Mutuo, Wa’Kü store&gallery Cadàver Exquisit, Espai Maragall, Fundación Hervás amezcua, Krstorebackyard…
