HONEYMOON
A destination with your name on it If you want your honeymoon to be everything you’ve always dreamed of, choose your destination carefully. Whether you’re outdoor enthusiasts, insatiable foodies, hopeless romantics or something in between, there’s sure to be a little corner of paradise that suits you to a T. Here are a few ideas. ROMANTIC Paris is the poster child of romantic honeymoon destinations. From exploring Montmartre hand in hand, to contemplating the Seine, to immortalizing your love on the Pont des Arts, the City of Lights has infinite potential for tender moments. Venice, with its gondolas, palaces and art
4
scene, is another option for a romantic getaway. Fall under the spell of Casanova’s hometown, where some of history’s most famous love stories were set. EPICUREAN San Sebastian in Spain is internationally renowned for its culinary scene. With one of the highest concentrations of Michelin-rated restaurants in the world, honeymooners definitely won’t run out of spots to enjoy a romantic dinner. Mexico, Vietnam, and Italy’s Amalfi Coast are also excellent choices for a flavourful honeymoon.
INTIMATE If your idea of a perfect honeymoon involves you, your new husband or wife, and no one else, fly away to the Maldives! Located at the centre of the Indian Ocean, this republic encompasses more than 1,190 islands, most of which are uninhabited. You’re sure to find a secluded spot where you can enjoy turquoise waters and endless white sandy beaches. ADVENTUROUS If you’re always on the hunt for new
experiences, Iceland may be just the destination for you. With its wide-open deserts, awe-inspiring volcanoes and numerous hot springs, this Nordic paradise is the perfect place to explore and relax with your better half. The Peruvian Andes, the Moroccan desert and the Japanese Alps may also have what it takes to satisfy your thirst for adventure.

GOOD REASONS TO GET MARRIED DURING THE
WINTER 6
The idea of getting married during the winter might sound rather bold, if not outright grim. But winter weddings actually have quite a few upsides! Here are just a few. 1. LOWER COSTS Getting married in the wintertime will save you money. How? For one, you’ll be purchasing your attire at a slow time of the year for merchants. What’s more, florists, decorators and caterers may be more willing to negotiate. 2. SCHEDULING FLEXIBILITY It’ll be a lot easier to secure reservations for your big day: churches, reception halls, caterers and entertainers are all usually less busy during the winter.
3. SEASONAL MAGIC Get inspired by the magic of winter to add a special touch to your wedding. Turn heads by making a grand entrance aboard a horse-drawn sleigh or a dogsled, and have your photographer capture the wedding party under sparkling, frosted trees. 4. COZY MEMORIES Treat your guests to the coziest of weddings by serving them hot beverages by the fire or giving them warm blankets as a gift.
Winter weddings are both highly romantic and budget-friendly.

When and where was your wedding? Our wedding was on February 25, 2017, the day after the big blizzard. We had our wedding at Bricelyn Lutheran Church and the reception was held at Wedgewood Cove. Why did you choose those locations? Aaron’s family’s church is at North Blue Earth Lutheran. We originally wanted to get married in this church because of how beautiful it is and the history with the church. Due to the size, we were not able to, but were able to take some pictures. The ceremony was held at Bricelyn Lutheran Church and was exactly what we wanted! Did you have a theme for the wedding? I wanted a winter wedding theme full of pine cones with greens and reds while keeping it classy. Tell us about the dress. I got my dress at Mestad’s in Rochester. This is the same shop that my sister found her wedding dress and I had a good feeling that I would have the same luck. I knew I wanted an off-white strapless mermaid dress because I felt like it was elegant without being too big of a dress. My dress had just enough sparkle in it that made me fall in love with it. I used the same veil my sister did with her wedding, and it made everything more special. T ell us about the flowers. All of my flowers were from Accents in Alden. My bouquet was all red flowers: roses, calla lilies and berries with some crystals in some of the flowers to make the bouquet stand out more. My bridesmaids all had white floral bouquets and my sister’s, who was my Matron of Honor, had hints of red within her bouquet. The table decorations had either white birch branches in vases with lights or lights in a vase with fake snow in them. T ell us about the cake. I used Storybook Cakes by Raycy Edwin.
She made a two layer Barrell French Vanilla cake with shabby chic design frosting. Red and white roses were used to decorate around the cake. On top of the cake I had a cake topper made that said Mr and Mrs Rame. French vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with rose design frosting were served to our guests. What was your favorite detail? I loved the different way we went about doing our wedding programs. We went a different route than the norm and did a newspaper style program. In the newspaper we had the story of how Aaron proposed to me, some details about the wedding and a crossword puzzle to pass some of the waiting time. I love how it turned out! hat were you most nervous about? W I was getting extremely bad foot cramps the day of my wedding for some reason. During pictures I would have to take my shoes off to make the cramp go away. I was nervous that I would be standing up there fidgeting the whole
time looking like I didn’t want to get married! Thankfully the foot cramps went away just in time. What was your most memorable moment? Our wedding day was the day after we had a blizzard. Some people were extremely nervous, but I wasn’t because it was exactly what I wanted. My dad passed away several years ago and throughout my engagement I kept thinking and asking for snow on my wedding day, so when it happened I was extremely grateful and blessed to feel as though he was ap art of it. Another memorable moment is when Aaron and I said our vows. We took the traditional route with the vows, but it was the most special part of the ceremony and a moment I won’t forget!
