LITFEST IS BACK ON CAMPUS

Last Friday and Saturday Lit Fest was held in the Library at Danks Street. How wonderful it was to stage the event in person. Friday evening in particular gained a large crowd, which enjoyed a party atmosphere, aided by some excellent food prepared by our Hospitality Club chefs.

On Saturday morning, the brilliant weather, which returned after its early winter vacation from Melbourne, bathed the Library in beautiful sunshine, making for a pleasant atmosphere indeed. Our guest speakers were interviewed by our incredibly articulate students, who teased out the secrets of writing. Topics discussed included the joys of being a professional writer, as well as the tough realities of holding it together financially until that big pay day (hopefully) comes.

One of the biggest highlights was a stunning performance poetry reading from our writer-in-residence Saanjana Kapoor.

Saanjana is leaving us for a residency in Singapore and we wish her well but are sure we'll see her on our bookshop shelves soon enough.

The event was made possible by the hard work of so many people, but we can't miss thanking Sean Watson, Liberal Arts Coordinator and our library team who do so much to promote reading and writing.

Guest writers: Jennifer Down, Giselle Au-Nhien Nguyen, Yves Rees, Laura Elizabeth Woollett, Rebecca Lim.

2022 APC CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION RESULTS
