L’alchimia era un’antica filosofia il cui fine era la trasformazione dei metalli vili in oro. Ottenere la pietra filosofale avrebbe permesso di risolvere i mali del mondo; la trasformazione della materia era una grande metafora della trasformazione dell’uomo. Ai giorni nostri la scienza moderna, basandosi su di una chimica razionale, permette di lavorare gli elementi con esattezza, dando all’uomo i mezzi per raggiungere i propri obbiettivi affrontando la dimensione interiore ed elevarsi. L’azienda produce componenti in carbonio per biciclette da Mountain Bike, Cross Country, Marathon ed Enduro per sportivi professionisti e amatori esigenti. I componenti Alchemist rappresentano la massima espressione della tecnica applicata al prodotto. Innovazione e qualità si devono all’attento processo di artigianato hi-tech Made in Italy nel quale il diretto coinvolgimento del personale tecnico è determinante. Noi li chiamiamo gli “alchimisti” perché racchiudono in sé scienza, esperienza, sensibilità e filosofia. L’alchimista usa solo le materie migliori individuando la tipologia di carbonio e tramatura delle fibre più adatti in relazione al tipo di sollecitazioni che ogni specifico prodotto dovrà affrontare. Usa solo fibra di carbonio preimpregnata perché caratterizzata da una distribuzione uniforme e precisa della quantità di resina in ogni punto. Ne deriva che peso, caratteristiche meccaniche, valori di resistenza a rottura e coefficiente di allungamento sono precisi al centesimo. L’accoppiamento dei layer è studiato per: sfruttare al meglio la tenacità del materiale; ridurre al minimo le vulnerabilità intrinseche dell’accoppiamento carbonio-resina, come delaminazione e scheggiatura; ottimizzare la quantità di materiale impiegato e quindi diminuire quanto più possibile il peso. Il processo di produzione Alchemist si distingue per aver introdotto la fase di “stabilizzazione” ovvero una serie di trattamenti e accorgimenti che portano il materiale alla sua massima espressione meccanica. A questo punto il pezzo in carbonio è pronto per la foratura, il taglio a misura, la sbavatura, la pulitura, la verniciatura e l’eventuale accoppiamento con altri materiali.I testing del prodotto vengono effettuati sul campo da bikers professionisti dotati di una sviluppata sensibilità nel giudicare le criticità, esprimendo con particolare attenzione esigenze e bisogni. L’alchimista è consapevole che l’evoluzione è continua perché un processo, una fibra, un polimero o un sistema meccanico possono sempre essere migliorati. Per l’alchimista vincere ogni sfida significa raggiungere la perfezione per poi individuare un nuovo punto di partenza, lo spazio per un’altra innovazione.

Obtaining the philosopher’s stone would have allowed them to resolve the world’s evils; transforming matter was an important metaphor for the transformation of man. Nowadays, modern science, in basing itself on rational chemistry, allows us to work the elements exactly, giving man the means to reach his objectives confronting his interior dimension and in this way improving himself. The company produces carbon fibre components for bicycles - Mountain Bikes, Cross Country bikes, Marathon bikes and Enduro for sporting professionals and demanding amateurs. Alchemist components are representative of the maximum technical expression applied to a product. Innovation and quality are due to the careful process of high-tech craftsmanship Made in Italy in which the direct involvement of the technical staff is crucial. We call them “alchemists” because they encapsulate science, experience, sensitivity and philosophy. The alchemist only uses the finest materials individualising the type of carbon and the most suitable fibre weave to be used in relation to the stress each specific product will have to face. He uses only pre-impregnated carbon fibre as it is characterised by a uniform distribution and precise quantity of resin in every point. From this it obtains that weight, mechanical characteristics, values of resistance to breakage and coefficient to lengthen are precise to the centimetre. Coupling layers is studied to: take greater advantage of the material’s tenacity, reducing the intrinsic vulnerability of carbon-resin coupling such as delamination and chipping to a minimum; optimise the quantity of material used and therefore reduce weight as much as possible. Alchemist’s manufacturing process is distinguished by the fact of it introducing a “stabilisation” phase or rather a series of treatments and solutions which bring the material to its maximum mechanical expression. At this point the carbon fibre piece is ready for drilling, cutting to size, di-burring, cleaning, varnishing and any coupling with other materials. Product testing is carried out on site by professional cyclists equipped with a developed sensitivity in judging critical areas, expressing their needs and requirements with particular care. The alchemist is aware that evolution is continuous as it is a process, a fibre, a polymer or a mechanical system which can always be improved. Aumentare il momento d’inerzia di un corpo genera l’incremento della resistenza alle sollecitazioni meccaniche. La tecnologia RR consiste nell’incrementare il momento d’inerzia della sezione resistente del cerchio in cui si esercitano le sollecitazioni maggiori durante l’utilizzo della ruota. Questa tecnologia aumenta le caratteristiche meccaniche e migliora le performance della ruota senza doverne aumentare spessori e peso. A parità di peso, un cerchio con tecnologia RR risulta molto più rigido, performante e resistente .

Increasing the moment of inertia of a body generates an increase in the resistance to mechanical stress. RR technology increases the moment of inertia of the rim’s resistant section where greater stress is exerted during the use of the wheel. This technology increases the mechanical characteristics and improves the wheel’s performance without having to increase its thickness and weight. On a weight for weight basis, a rim with RR technology is much more rigid, powerful and durable.

Altro aspetto molto importante nella tecnologia RR è che le superfici non lineari caratterizzanti il cerchio impediscono agli urti causati da sassi, radici od altro di essere perpendicolari alla superficie del cerchio stesso che rimane quindi illeso anche dopo impatti violenti.

In tutti i mozzi non dotati di tecnologia TI-RING le sollecitazioni generate da un normale utilizzo e dalla tensione dei raggi agiscono sulle sedi dei cuscinetti generando principalmente due danni ai cuscinetti stessi: - deformazione dell’anello esterno del cuscinetto che nel tempo danneggia la sede di scorrimento delle sfere. - variazione dell’allineamento e della centralità dei cuscinetti rispetto all’asse del mozzo limitando la loro durata nel tempo e favorendo le infiltrazioni di acqua e sporco.

In all hubs not equipped with TI-RING technology, the stresses generated by normal use and the tension on the spokes act on the bearing housings causing two main damages to the bearings: - deformation of the outer ring of the bearing, which over time damages the sliding seat of the spheres. - change in the alignment and centrality of the bearings compared to the axis of the hub, thus restricting their durability and facilitating the infiltration of water and dirt.

The secret of TI-RING technology consists in having a titanium ring in which 2 bearings are placed that, protected by external stress, increase their durability, rigidity and bending resistance. The titanium ring TI-RING, complete with bearings, is fixed to the hub body by means of a thread for a perfect fit, while ensuring outstanding protection against dirt and absolute assembly precision. The “package” thus created (bearings + hub body + shaft) is perfect and completely play free; this feature persists over time.

Ruota da ENDURO a 24 fori progettata applicando la teoria scientifica del “Gyroscopic Effect”, teoria che ha delineato lo studio e la progettazione di un unico e indissolubile assieme ruota (CERCHIO + RAGGI + MOZZO) in cui tutti i componenti sono dimensionati e realizzati per lavorare congiuntamente. RUOTA CON UN CONTROLLO ED UNA REATTIVITÀ SENZA PARI. Il cerchio in carbonio 18K UD IM + 12K HS è stato progettato con la tecnologia proprietaria RR (Ridge Reinforcement). Realizzato in stampo ad alta pressione con resina IMPACT-PROOF contenente polimeri plastici che aumentano l’assorbimento delle sollecitazioni e degli impatti. La zona nipless è rinforzata in stampo per aumentare la resistenza e la foratura è inclinata di ± 5°. La foratura è disassata rispetto all’asse della ruota di 3mm per compensare la differenza di campanatura. I mozzi STEALTH sono realizzati completamente con tecnologia CNC Ultra-Milling in ERGAL-75 e poi sottoposti ad anodizzazione “Dura” per ottimizzarne la rigidità e la resistenza alle abrasioni. ENDURO rim with 24 holes designed by applying the “Gyroscopic Effect”, a scientific theory that outlines the study and design of a unique and indissoluble wheel bundle (RIM + SPOKE + HUB) where all the components are sized and manufactured to work together. RIM WITH EXCELLENT CONTROL AND UNMATCHED REACTIVITY. The 18K UD IM + 12K HS carbon fibre rim was designed with proprietary technology RR (Ridge Reinforcement). Manufactured using a high pressure mould with IMPACT-PROOF resin containing plastic polymers that increase absorption of impact stress. The nipless area is strengthen on mould to increase resistance and the holes are tilted by + 5°. The holes are offset at 3mm from the wheel’s axis to compensate for the difference in camber. The STEALTH hubs are entirely made with CNC Ultra-Milling technology in ERGAL-75 and then subjected to “Dura” anodization to optimize their stiffness and abrasion resistance. Il segreto della tecnologia Ti-RING consiste nell’avere un anello in titanio in cui vengono collocati 2 cuscinetti che, protetti dalle sollecitazioni esterne, aumentano la loro durata nel tempo, la rigidità e la resistenza alla flessione. Riparazione o sostituzione in garanzia La riparazione o sostituzione in garanzia avverrà solamente a fronte della restituzione del prodotto, o della parte danneggiata, se accompagnati da ricevuta originale di vendite o prova di acquisto. Nel caso di un acquisto presso rivenditore autorizzato è possibile rivolgersi al rivenditore stesso. Nel caso di un acquisto online è necessario organizzare, a proprie spese, una spedizione mezzo corriere all’indirizzo Alchemist S.r.l. via Sile, 38 - 30022 Ceggia (VE).

Repairs and replacements under warranty Repair or replacement under warranty will only occur when the product or damaged part has been returned accompanied by the original sales receipt or proof of purchase. La garanzia non copre danni subiti alle parti se utilizzate in applicazioni fuori portata rispetto all’utilizzo per il quale sono state progettate (ad esempio nel caso dei cerchi per il Cross Country se utilizzati per Discesa Libera). La garanzia non si applica per danni subiti a seguito di un incidente, impatto, alterazione non autorizzata, abuso del prodotto oltre la normale usura. La garanzia copre i danni limitatamente ai prodotti Alchemist e non è applicabile per danni estesi ad altri componenti di terzi. La garanzia non è applicabile per prodotti il cui numero di serie sia totalmente o anche solo parzialmente illeggibile. La garanzia non si applica a prodotti che non siano stati sottoposti ad una corretta e regolare manutenzione.

Warranty limitations The warranty does not cover parts which have been installed incorrectly, or regulated to different values in respect to those indicated by the relevant installation manual. The warranty does not cover damage incurred to parts if used in applications outside the range of uses for which it was designed (for example in the case of Cross Country rims when used for Downhill cycling). The warranty does not apply to damage incurred following accidents or impact, non-authorised alterations or abuse of the product outside the normal usage. The warranty covers damage limited to Alchemist products and is not applicable for extended damage to other third party components. The warranty is not applicable on products whose serial number is either totally or even partially illegible. The warranty is not applicable on products which have not undergone regular maintenance.

Servizio di garanzia riparazione/sostituzione Solo ed esclusivamente il personale Alchemist S.r.l. può verificare se sono state rispettate le condizioni, in base ai criteri sopra elencati, per l’applicabilità del diritto di riparazione/ sostituzione in garanzia. Nel caso in cui non sussistano i presupposti di garanzia Alchemist S.r.l. si impegna ad avvisare il cliente affinché decida se procedere con la riparazione a proprie spese.

Repair/substitution service under warranty

CRASH REPLACEMENT: se il prodotto viene rotto accidentalmente o per un uso non appropriato (esempio incidente o uso in freeride), durante il periodo di garanzia si offre la possibilità al cliente di acquistare online un nuovo prodotto sostitutivo scontato del 50% su prezzo di listino.

Destinazione d’uso Tutti i componenti Alchemist sono destinati esclusivamente ad un uso Cross Country e Marathon e posso essere impiegati in percorsi accidentati con grado di difficoltà da moderato ad aggressivo. In particolare è previsto l’uso su percorsi ove sono presenti piccoli ostacoli, aree tecniche lisce, anche con momentanea perdita di contatto tra pneumatico e terreno. Non è invece previsto l’uso su percorsi con dropp importanti o compressioni, salti o passerelle che richiedano sospensioni con escursioni lunghe e, in generale, se non sono classificati per uso Cross Country. I componenti Alchemist non possono essere montati su biciclette non classificate all’interno delle categorie Cross Country o Marathon.

Intended use All Alchemist component parts are intended exclusively for use in Cross Country Racing and Marathons and may be used on uneven tracks with a moderate to aggressive level of difficulty. In particular use is foreseen on tracks where there are small obstacles, smooth technical areas, even when there is slight loss of contact between the tyre and the terrain. Use is not intended on tracks with significant drops or compressions, jumps or walkways which require long range suspension and, in general, if not classified for Cross Country use. Alchemist parts may not be fitted to bicycles that are not classified within the Cross Country or Marathon category.

Manutenzione I prodotti prima di ogni uscita vanno attentamente controllati per verificarne l’integrità e che non vi siano danneggiamenti o usure eccessive. Un prodotto sottoposto ad una manutenzione insufficiente può provocare danni a cose e persone e causare incidenti che possono portare seri e gravi danni fisici. Fare sempre riferimento al manuale di manutenzione.

Maintenance All products are carefully checked before leaving the factory in order to check that there is no excessive damage or wear. Nel caso in cui un rivenditore o distributore decida autonomamente di sostituire un prodotto questo non potrà essere rimborsato da Alchemist S.r.l..

Note to retailer The retailer or distributor, under no circumstances or for any reason may carry out substitution of a product under warranty without the expressed written authorisation of Alchemist S.r.l. Should the retailer or distributor decide independently to substitute a product, this will not be reimbursed by Alchemist S.r.l.
