Lot details: The grey earthenware ewer decorated with serrated strips as beak and brows as the head of a bird (perhaps an owl), the bulbous cord-impressed tripod base (li) ending in small feet, single applied loop handle. Qijia culture.

Lot details: Comprising: a Garuda (khyung),a vajry, a seal-shaped thokcha,a makaras buckle.
Tokchas (also spelt as thokcha, tokche, thogchak, thog-lcag, or thogchag) are small ‘found’ ancient, sacred objects that went on to serve as votive talismans, and which were valued for their magical properties. Usually they are of bronze or copper alloy. Many are believed to also contain some meteoric metal. Tibetans highly prized them and would wear them to protect them and to absorb evil. Usually they were hung from the neck or attached to clothing, but also were sewn onto amulet pouches or attached to religious articles.
Condition: Minor wear, scratches, occasional dents and losses, stains, and oxidization to the surfaces overall. All are consistent with age and use. Otherwise, overall in good condition.

MING-STYLE BLUE AND WHITE MOONFLASK
Qianlong Six-Character Mark 10 in. (25.5 cm.) high
Lot details: Each side is moulded with a peach-shaped panel that is decorated in the fifteenth century style with two bats in flight around fruiting peach branches. The panel is surrounded by a flower scroll meander, while the narrow sides are decorated with lingzhi scroll interrupted by the bottom terminal of the arched ruyi sceptre handles. The base has a six-character Qianlong seal mark.
Provenance: Hong Kong private collector. Collected from Antique Store originally. Condition: Good condition commensurate with age, minor old wear.
Literature Comparison: Compare flask of the same pattern but with Daoguang seal mark included in the Illustrated Catalogue of Ch'ing Dynasty Porcelain in the National Palace Museum, Vol II, 1981. pl 112. An identical piece but bearing a Jiaqing mark is in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in Blue and White Porcelain with Underglazed Red (III), The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Hong Kong, 2000, p. 162, pl. 148. Two similarly decorated Qianlong-marked moonflasks of comparable size were sold at Christie's New York, 30 March 2005, lots 365 and 366.

Lot details: Stoneware body covered in blue and purple glazes with olivegreen on base. The flower-pot has a grey-brown body with milky-blue glaze on the interior and purple glaze on the exterior with 'earthworm' marks caused by splitting. There are five holes cut into the base and one inscriptions incised into glaze on the base after firing along with chinese numeral san (three).

Lot details: The robust ovoid body supported on a splayed foot, sweeping up to a waisted neck and everted rim, set with two taotie-mask handles suspending mock rings, brightly painted in deep shades of cobalt accented by contrived 'heaping and piling' with a wide band of scrolling lotus, the large blooms borne in an alternating double register with the upper row each supporting one of the beribboned bajixiang, the neck encircled by a band of quatrefoil crenulated motifs divided by flower sprigs and further wrapped with a lotus scroll, the base skirted with petal lappets, all between a band of tumultuous waves encircling the rim and foot, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark.

Lot details: The deity is exquisitely cast standing on a beaded lotus base. The rounded face is finely modelled with an urna between the arched eyebrows. The eyes are downcast and lips gently indented to provide a benevolent, smiling, expression. The figure is adorned with an elaborate diadem securing the hair swept up into a topknot with two neat strands falling on each shoulder.
