Proving the ideal gas laws:

During the lab, the main objective is to change temperature and adjust the volume in order to remain at a constant pressure. Presented by: Alisha C., Morgan M., Jalisa S. & Jasmin H.

It is critical to adjust the volume until the temperature goes back to it's original rate of temperature.

Put the stopper over the vacuum flask. (It is very important if you have every opening hole in your stopper to be air tight because, any opening will affect the results of the lab.) You may have use the parafilm around the holes that need to be sealed more. Insert the syringe in hole #1. Afterwards, insert the temperature probe in hole #2. Lastly, insert the Gas pressure sensor in hole #3. Set the  hot plate to about 70 degrees celsius (343.15 Kelvin). Correct Set up should look as follows:

To begin collecting data, you need to connect the Venir Pressure and Temperature probe to the computer and log onto Logger Pro. Open logger pro

Proving the Ideal Gas Law

Using the Ideal Gas law equation, prove that its correct by solving for k.

You should be able to substitute the variables needed to solve for each k value. After filling out the chart, you should find the average for k, which should be a constant to be able to prove the ideal gas law correctly. t

Post-Lab Questions

1. Were there any patterns?

2. If so, what were they?

3. Could there be any possible errors?
