Cholula, está formada por los poblados de San Andrés Cholula y San Pedro Cholula y recomendamos visitarlo en 3 días, para tener un acercamiento a lo más representativo de la ciudad.

PUEBLA En la parte arqueológica, destaca por ser una ciudad con arquitectura colonial y que además presume de tener una de las pirámides más grandes en base del mundo con casi 400 metros de cada lado, y sobre la que después de la Colonia fue construida una iglesia virreinal cuya cúpula está cubierta por talavera típica de la región que corona la gran pirámide, y desde la que se obtiene una gran vista de la ciudad que maravilla a los visitantes. Se puede acceder a la zona arqueológica a través de túneles, lo cual le añade un misticismo extra al recorrido. En el Museo de Sitio se puede conocer la historia de la pirámide y de la iglesia.
In the archeological aspect, it stands out for being a city with colonial architecture as well as having one of the biggest pyramids in the world as measured at the base. It measures almost 400 meters on each side, and on top of which, after the colonization, a church of the viceroyalty was built whose cupola is covered with typical ceramics of the region and crowns the great pyramid, from which visitors are marveled by the great view of the city it provides. The archeological zone can be reached through tunnels, which add an extra mysticism to the tour. At the site museum you can learn the history of the pyramid and the church.
Se dice que Cholula cuenta con 365 iglesias, una para cada día del año, por lo que seguro llamará la atención de los paseantes el que todos los días se escuchen fuegos pirotécnicos festejando a algún santo. Visitamos “La Casa de Frida”, donde podrás probar el tradicional mole poblano y escuchar música en vivo de la región. Pero no pierdas la oportunidad de adentrarte en el Mercado de San Pedro Cholula donde encontrarás artesanías y productos locales como talavera, alfarería, o artículos pirotécnicos y por supuesto, una gran muestra de la gastronomía de la región con tamales de frijol, asado verde, mole poblano, ponche (bebida elaborada con maíz azul y leche), postres de leche, alegrías (amaranto) y pepitorias (de semillas de calabaza y miel) y gran variedad de sidra (especie de vino espumoso).

We visited “La Casa de Frida”, where you can try the traditional mole poblano and listen to live music from the region. But don’t miss the opportunity to go inside the Market of San Pedro Cholula where you will find artisanal crafts and local products like talavera (ceramics), pottery, or fireworks and of course, a great variety of the gastronomy of the region with bean tamales, asado verde (pork in green sauce), mole poblano, ponche (a drink made of blue corn and milk), desserts, amaranth bars, and pepitorias (made of pumpkin seeds and honey) as well as a large variety of sidra (a type of sparkling wine).
Por la noche, decidimos visitar Container City, se trata de un complejo de restaurantes, moda y entretenimiento formado por viejos contenedores de tren y muy concurrido por la juventud poblana, siguiendo lo más reciente del diseño industrial, el desarrollo sustentable y el urbanismo. Es un lugar ideal para relajarse después de un día de paseos culturales. Otro lugar que se puede visitar por la noche, es la Licorería San Pedrito, una mezcla de pasado y presente, una lugar folklórico pero contemporáneo para bailar cumbias y probar el mejor mezcal del país. Una ciudad muy viva, que muestra el sincretismo generado posterior a la Colonia y que vibra por las noches con el flujo de estudiantes que la visitan.

At night, we decided to visit Container City, a complex of restaurants, fashion, and entertainment formed from old shipping containers and very popular with young people from Puebla following the most recent trends in industrial design, sustainable development, and urbanism. It is an ideal place to relax after a day of cultural outings. Ciudad capital del estado del mismo nombre y ubicada en la Meseta Central de México, es sin duda, una de las ciudades más atractivas del país para visitar un fin de semana, entre otras cosas, por la belleza arquitectónica con la que cuenta y su cada vez mayor oferta cultural, de un aire tranquilo y placentero que invita a recorrer y disfrutar sus calles. No por nada la UNESCO la nombró Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad. La primer parada podría ser, si se llega a buena hora a la ciudad, visitar el Mercado Gonzalez Ortega, ubicado junto a la catedral, y el cual cuenta con uno de los lugares más típicos de la ciudad. El café Acrópolis. Frente a este mercado uno tiene el bello edificio del Teatro Calderón, uno de los iconos de Zacatecas testigo inmutable y vivo de la historia.

The capital city of the state by the same name and located on the Central Plateau of Mexico, is without a doubt one of the most attractive cities in the country for a weekend visit, for, among other things, its architectural beauty, its everincreasing cultural offering, and its tranquil, pleasurable air that invites you to tour and enjoy its streets. Not for nothing UNESCO named it a World Heritage Site. The first stop could be, if you arrive to the city at a good time, to visit the Gonzalez Ortega Market, located next to the cathedral and which has one of the most typical places of the city, the Acropolis Café. In front of the market is the beautiful building of the Calderon Theater, one of the icons of Zacatecas, an immutable and living witness of history.

Saliendo de ahí uno puede ir a visitar la catedral, de marcada tendencia barroca y uno de los símbolos de la ciudad, para seguirse por la calle Hidalgo y encontrarse entre otros sitios como el Palacio de Gobierno, Plaza de Armas, el Templo de Santo Domingo, El Museo Pedro Coronel y muchos más edificios donde la cantera rosa es el predominante y donde las tiendas guardan esa homogeneidad que hacen que Zacatecas conserve una identidad sobresaliente y entrañable. Llegando la noche uno cuenta entre otros lugares con la original discoteca de la Mina Club, única en su especie, y la cual está ubicada precisamente dentro de la famosa Mina del Edén, bien vale la pena ir solo por apreciarla, disfrutar el espectacular juego de luces con que cuenta y sumergirse en lo sui generis del lugar.
Otra singular forma de disfrutar la noche en Zacatecas, es a través de sus callejoneadas. Un agradable recorrido a ritmo de tambora y mezcal donde la gente se congrega alrededor de la agrupación, iniciando sus andanzas por varios rincones de la ciudad. Inevitable no dejarse llevar por este singular festejo.
Another unique way to enjoy the night in Zacatecas is through its alleyway tours. It is a pleasant tour to the rhythm of a drum and mezcal where the people congregate around the musicians, starting their wanderings from various parts of the city. It’s impossible not to get carried away by this unique celebration.
Leaving there one can visit the cathedral, of marked baroque tendency and one of the symbols of the city. Continue along Hidalgo Street and find yourself among other sites such as the Government Palace, Square of Arms, the Temple of Santo Domingo, The Pedro Coronel Museum, and many more buildings where pink stonework is predominant and where the stores preserve this homogeneity that makes Zacatecas conserve its outstanding and endearing identity. Upon the arrival of night one has, among other options, the original nightclub of the Mina Club, one of a kind and located precisely inside the famous Eden Mine. It is worth it to go just to appreciate it, enjoy the spectacular light show and submerge yourself in the uniqueness of the place.

Life in its historic center has tones of European flavor, with hundreds of cobblestone alleys that go up and down the hillsides, its squares full of outdoor cafes, museums, theaters, markets, and historic monuments. Its buildings are an example of colonial architecture in the neoclassical and baroque styles. Este edificio es un simbolo revolucionario por la batalla que se libró ahí el 28 de septiembre de 1810 y encarna la figura de Hidalgo, la soberanía y libertad de la nación mexicana. Desde 1958 alberga el Museo Regional.
Its construction began in 1797 and was an imposing work of neoclassic architecture that reflected the bounty of Guanajuato near the end of the XVIII century. This building is a revolutionary symbol of the battle fought there on September 28, 1810 and embodies the figure of Hidalgo, the sovereignty and freedom of the Mexican nation. It has housed the Regional Museum since 1958.

Principal ingrediente del chocolate, ha jugado desde la antigüedad un papel fundamental en la cultura de México, el procesamiento de esta delicia y su uso culinario pueden rastrearse a las antiguas culturas que una vez habitarón nuestro maravilloso país. Se cree que los olmecas fueron los primeros mesoamericanos en cultivar y usar el cacao, desde las áreas tropicales bajas del centro y sur de México. La tradición del cultivo y uso culinario del cacao paso de los olmecas a los mayas, quienes cultivarón esta semilla en plantíos a lo largo del sureste mexicano, fue ahí donde tomó altura al ser bebida para las élites sociales, un ofrecimiento ritual y una forma de moneda.

Just the journey is enjoyable and offers us an obligatory visit to the small town of “La Manzanilla de la Paz”. A white temple, the adobe buildings, and “La Chuta”, a hundred year old cantina with its traditional drink “La ingrata” (the ungrateful), receive us in this placid and quiet town.

The smell of wood is an unmistakable sign that our destination is close. The natural landscape of the mountains is incredible, giving it the title of “The Mexican Switzerland”. Streams, waterfalls, and green pastures nestled between the mountains are part of our voyage.
ALONG THE PATHS OF JALISCO Una espectacular caida de agua de aproximadamente 35 metros de altura nos espera, “Cascada el Salto” se ubica dentro del fraccionamiento Los Cazos, caminando o a caballo son las mejores maneras de bajar a este lugar donde vale la pena refrescarse. El hambre se apodera de nuevo y no hay mejor manera de saciarla que probando su tradicional “bote” un rico caldo de tres carnes y pulque. Este destino forma parte del corredor ecoturístico de la Sierra del Tigre, una red de 180 kilometros de caminos rurales y serrania.

a historia de Charros de Jalisco y Armando Navarro está teñida de contrastes, talento y lucha incansable, el equipo fue fundado en 1946, el primer diamante donde jugaron estaba en el antiguo barrio de Analco, su casa hasta 1952. El origen del nombre “Charros” se dice que antes de llegar a un juego en Chihuahua el calor hizo que pararan en un pueblo para comprar sombreros de ala ancha, al llegar a la ciudad traían los sombreros puestos de ahí el mote de “Charros”.

Desde los 6 años la pasión generacional de Armando Navarro por el béisbol lo llevó al estadio de los Charros, “a los 8 vi mi primer campeonato”, cuando Charros de Jalisco logró juntar toda una constelación de estrellas en el equipo tuvieron a 7 jugadores que ya forman parte del salón de la fama como Elrod Hendricks y el tercera base Winston Llenas.
Fue testigo de la final de 1971 donde se obtiene el segundo campeonato del equipo, en lo que se considera una hazaña del beisbol mexicano, regresando de una desventaja de 3 juegos a 0 contra Saraperos de Saltillo en la Serie Final.

Después de años de contrastes donde los Charros de Jalisco estuvieron intermitentes y fuera del beisbol profesional mexicano, fue en 1990 cuando Armando Navarro logra conocer al presidente de la liga y personalidades del medio, logrando así el retorno del béisbol a la ciudad como vicepresidente del equipo de 1991 a 1995, “tuve la oportunidad de firmar a Fernando Valenzuela que jugó en la temporada de 1992 y 1994”, finalmente en el 1996 el equipo se va y se convierte en Guerreros de Oaxaca. Finalmente después de 14 años de una lucha incansable y de numerosas caídas, el béisbol profesional llega a Guadalajara en el 2014 bajo el cobijo de su presidente Armando Navarro, la primera temporada marca un regreso histórico con el equipo como superlíder y llegando a la gran final. Ir a un juego de los Charros de Jalisco es toda una experiencia, un espectáculo familiar lleno de magia, este año será el primer equipo del béisbol mexicano en tener bobbleheads, durante 5 juegos a los primeros 8 mil aficionados se van a regalar, todos los viernes habrá un espectáculo de rayos láser y al terminar los juegos la pirotecnia pintara el estadio digno de grandes ligas.

he story of the Charros of Jalisco and Armando Navarro is dyed full of contrasts, talent, and a tireless fight. The team was founded in 1946, and the first diamond where they played was in the old neighborhood of Analco, their home until 1952. Of the origin of the name “Charros” it is said that before arriving to a game in Chihuahua the heat caused them to stop in a town to buy widebrimmed hats. Upon arriving to the city they were wearing the hats and thus the nickname “Charros”. From the time he was 6 years old the generational passion for baseball of Armando Navarro took him to the Charros stadium. “At 8 I saw my first championship,” when the Charros of Jalisco managed to bring together a constellation of stars. On the team there were 7 players who now form part of the hall of fame such as Elrod Hendricks and third baseman Winston Llenas. He witnessed the final in 1971 when the team obtained its second championship, considered a great feat of Mexican baseball. The team returned from a 3 games to 0 disadvantage against the Saraperos of Saltillo in the Final Series.
After years of contrasts when the Charros of Jalisco were in and out of Mexican professional baseball, it was in 1990 when Armando Navarro managed to meet the president of the league and personalities of the medium, thus achieving the return of baseball to the city as vice-president of the team from 1991 to 1995. “I had the opportunity to sign Fernando Valenzuela who played in the seasons of 1992 and 1994.” Finally in 1996, the team left and became the Guerreros of Oaxaca.
