REVITALIZATION OF THE CONCRETE SLAB HOUSING IN POLAND 1st prize in a competition for a revitalization od facades and public space using fiber cement COMPETITION

Project of the revitalization of the concrete slab blocks’ facades and public space between the buildings is based on the idea of using specific unit made of fiber cement. The module is designed in a form of a drawer, which can be attached to the balcony, but also put in different combination in order to create public furniture. The main aim of the project was to combine the idea of individualisation of facades desired by inhabitants, while still retaining architectural quality and order. Even though particular balconies differ, they still remain a part of a designed system.

Design studio’s aim was to create project of a building, which could provide refugees with help, they need. At this moment, when Building of Tempelhof’s Airport serves as a home for many refugees comming to Berlin, it became obvious, that this neighbourhood lacks facilities for newcomers. Desgined building’s program is focus on two from most importnat needs - health care and possibility of integration. Building is located in the western side of the Tempelhof Field. Form of the building comes from the urban context and existing axes. What was also very importent in design’s process, was the decision of leaving the historical rails, which go all around Tempelhof Field. It it thought to be some kind of the reminder of the Tempehof’s complex history, but also in a way - its continuation. While designing the building, new main entrance to the Tempelhof Feld was designed. Tempelhos still lacks really representative entrance, therefore within this project it was design on the contiuation of northern landing road.

Culture Cluster, revitalisation of former Peterseim’s Factory in Kraków, Poland Forming a culture cluster - a space gathering various initiatives and institutions involved in cultural activities and alternative culture - in the former factory in the Kraków’s district of Grzegórzki is a project, that answers the city’s actual needs. Coming from a worldwide trend, it attempts to create a new space for young people and bring fresh air into a forgotten an overlooked part of the city.

MASTERPLAN OF DĘDNIKI DISTRICT AND HOUSING IN CRACOW UNIVERSITY

Dębniki is an underdeveloped district od Cracow. Despite its central localisation, it still lacks the strong housing structure. Main aim of the Dębniki’s Masterplan was to create a dense build-up area, having high urban and architectural qualities, abounding in services and taking advantage of localisation in the city’s context. at the same time Housing itself was thought to be not only a “bedroom” housing, where people come only to sleep, but as a self-sufficient center of community. Architecture of the housing was designed with a thought given to the human scale and individual needs of particular groups of inhabitanst. Buildings were designed as separate modules divided into three targets groups: students, families and the elderly. Each of the modules contains common space for 2-4 flats, which arrangement suits the needs of certain group. Ground levels of the buildings are to be used as a service space or common space for the whole comunity.

The aim of the competition was to create a Centre of Enviromental Education, combining several functions. In the design they were divided between separate buildings connected with a delineated educational path. Every unit is designed as a passive building with the elevations made of recycled materials.

Arrangement of “Zodiak” pavillion’s square Competition organised by The Association of Polish Architects in Warsaw COMPETITION
The proposed arrangement does not escape from the reality we live and design in, but attempts to serve it in a more palatable way. The pervasive chaos associated with the commercial city centre being transformed into an aesthetic and memorable space filled with artisanal neon signs was the main idea behind our project. Instead of changing the function of the space, it simply displays it much more neatly.

EXPERIMENTAL KINDERGARDEN IN VIENNA
Project being a part of “Experimental Kindergarten” publication UNIVERSITY
In the experimental kindergarten assignment the main goal was creating a space, that will stimulate the child’s imagination and fulfill its needs. An idea of merging the furniture with the shape of the building itself concludes in a design where all necessary functions are hidden within the walls and the space can be continuously modified and rediscovered.
