young reasearchers’ school The organic shape of the building is the response to the area of Stawy Kellera in Warsaw, PL. Sloped with the difference of one storey and with the big lake in the middle, enables to create the non-conventional spaces, especially if it it comes to the school. The young researchers’ school is consisted of normal classrooms, classrooms for science and musical education, cantine with jazz club, auditoriums, gyms, library and two big patios, one with lake. All the other spaces are opened and enlighted. The main inspiration was the mitocondrion and the cell itself and for the system of connection - neurones.

new center for Warsaw Competition for new Plac Defilad in Warsaw was done in collaboration with Agnieszka Kołacińska and Kuba Andrzejewski. Our main idea is to create a new city center for Warsaw as this capital has no social and spatial center right now. We are taking the basic needs of city and its inhabitants and confronting them with typical functional types in polish cities - it’s a theoretical tower.

synagogue Final project is located in Przedborz, Poland where my father came from. It’s a synagogue with whole complex as a support - like yeshiva, kosher kitchen and mykvah are the support for whole jewish community in town. The inspiration was taken from Congragation Beth Israel project in Berkeley, CA where the locals wanted to rebuild their synagogue on the base of Przedborz synagogue (project was supported by Elie Wiesel). The dispersed structure of the elements refer to irregular layout of jewish districts where synagogues are always the higher and mykvahs take the natural water - my mykvah is on the edge of ground and river with a small pool. Main inspiration for the character is Yad Vashem Institutin Jerusalem.

modular light cloud
Modular Light Cloud is a spatial web encased in a cuboid shape, where parametric definition created in Rhino and Grasshopper is controlling length and position of LED lamps encased in special aluminium profiles and 42 unique nodes fabricated in a 3D printer. The intensity of lighting, its duration etc. is controlled by specially wired microprocessors armed with sound sensors (based on Arduino) . The installation interacts with its surroundings, listening to the sounds made by its users, becomes an “instrument”. “Modular Light Cloud” installation was designed and manufactured during Summer School Workshops at ASK (Architecture for Society of Knowledge), an international Masters course at Warsaw University of Technology School of Architecture.

Sensors to light and sound
Modular Light Cloud became the part of the performance at Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw right after its premiere. The structure needed to be redesign et reconstruct. The new elements needed to be create. I was responsible for one group which was taking care of soldering new Arduino systems with sensors, plugs and LED tapes which were all connected in the aluminium tubes. The other groups built the microsystems before our work and the whole structure in the museum after.
