a shiny, soft and healthy hair, so they expend a lot of m o n e y o n s p e c i a l a n d expensive products, but that’s over! DIY masks are the perfect way to restore you hair’s moisture and shine without the extra cost of salon hair care products or unneeded chemicals. Making a hair mask doesn’t require any special skill or a lot of time and you can cind the ingredients in your kitchen.

INJURY FREE By Ana Armas Exercising regularly has wide-ranging physical, emotional and social health benefits. You need to exercise safely to remain healthy and injury-free. If it’s safe and painless, you’re more likely to stick to it! Safety is about using common sense, understanding basic techniques and listening to your body.

Be aware of your body. Think about how the particular exercise is making you feel. If something doesn’t feel right, stop immediately and seek medical advice.

Warm up and cool down. Try slow stretches and go through the motions of your sport or activity before starting. Cool down with slow stretching.

Pace yourself. Have at least one recovery day each week to rest. If you are experiencing pain, rest until the pain has gone.

Mix it up. Try other sports and exercises to reduce the risk of overtraining.

Strap or tape. If a joint is prone to injury, consider strapping or taping it before exercising.

Stay hydrated. You can lose around one and a half litres of cluid for every hour of exercise; so drink water before, during and after a session.

Be weather aware. Take it easier in hot weather and wear clothing and sunscreen to protect yourself from the elements.

Check your gear. Make sure your shoes and equipment cit properly and are right for the activity. Look after your equipment and check it regularly for safety.

Be sensible, especially at night or in secluded areas. Take a friend or your dog, stick to well-­‐lit areas and wear bright or light-­‐reclective clothing so drivers can see you.

You probably base when you eat off of your school or work schedule: a decent breakfast in the morning, a light lunch in the middle of the day and a hearty dinner after a long, nine-to-five workday. When you do get hungry in-between, you’ll usually either grab a vending machine snack or wait until your next meal, which can lead to unintentional overeating.

How to Get Clear Skin

Lemon Lemon is one of the best ingredients that you can use to promote clear skin. The citric acid present in lemon helps keep the skin clear by removing dead cells, and its vitamin C content helps reduce dark spots by increasing the cell renewal process. Lemon also has bleaching properties that will help improve your overall skin complexion.

• Apply fresh-­‐squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then w a s h i t o f f w i t h l u k e w a r m w a t e r. A f t e r t h i s , r u b cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturise it. Do this daily or every other day. • Another option is squeeze the juice of one-­‐half lemon and m i x o n e t o t w o tablespoons of raw honey in it. Apply it on your face, leave it o n f o r 1 5 t o 2 0 minutes and then rinse it off. • To exfoliate your skin, mix two teaspoons each of lemon juice and sugar. Apply the mixture on your face, n e c k a n d h a n d s . Scrub in a circular motion and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then rinse it off with l u k e w a r m w a t e r. Follow this remedy once a week to enjoy glowing skin.


• Apply raw honey directly on your skin. Let it dry naturally and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. The water content in honey will deeply moisturise the skin, making it soft and supple. Do this simple remedy once daily or every other day. • Alternatively, mix two teaspoons of milk and one teaspoon of honey. Then add one teaspoon of gram clour and mix it in well. Apply it all over your face. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Use this face mask once a week to enjoy radiant and clear skin.
