ABOUT US PHDesign has a rich history that rests on creativity, passion and tradition. Founded in 1979 – initially as Pacific Enterprises and later incorporated – by Gilbert Martinez, an immigrant from Mexico at the age of 19. Although he was a cattle rancher back in Mexico, Gilbert worked hard day and night and managed to start his own business in two years. He began by refurbishing existing pieces but quickly progressed to building commissioned furniture and decor for clients. Gilbert Martinez was so passionate about furniture design and the way it transformed ordinary spaces, and he continued to develop his skill for homes and hotels. He enjoyed creating unique pieces that could be replicated, and ultimately focused on luxurious hospitality furnishings. Since opening our doors in 1979, Pacific Hospitality Design, Inc. has become a recognized leader in furniture and decor manufacturing to the trade industries. HOW WE CREATE YOUR FURNITURE At the Pacific Hospitality Design Inc. factory, artistry and quality workmanship come to life. We take care of our skilled workers like family and provide a working environment that inspires them to be creative.
DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT From CAD drawings with specific measurements to actual Prototypes of your products, we ensure every detail is approved before we begin production of your items. We make sure to always keep in contact with you to make sure every detail is correct.
FRAMING DEPARTMENT When your orders require a large quantity of the same item, our in-house framers will make templates to ensure each item is exactly the same.
SANDING DEPARTMENT Before your items are sent to our finishing department, every item that has exposed wood is sanded down to ensure the safety of anyone who comes into contact with the items.
CARVING DEPARTMENT Our skilled in-house carpenters work day-in and day-out to get every detail just right.
FINISHING DEPARTMENT To ensure your satisfaction, we offer various wood finish samples for you to choose from. If you have a specific finish in mind, we can even match your sample.
CUT & SEW DEPARTMENT We cut your fabric in house to ensure perfection. From making sure the pattern of your fabric runs the correct way to pattern matching, we take every precaution to make sure your item is perfect.

Although we don’t fabricate your metal items in-house, we make sure to work with some of the best local companies. We work together with these companies to make sure you get the best possible price.

THE BONES OF OUR FURNITURE We have been making custom furniture frames for over 30 years. The integrity of each piece is supported by corner blocks, solid wood dowels, glue and screws. Each piece is thoughtfully webbed, hand-tied and/or sprung depending upon the properties and function of each piece.
