PATHSCAPE Senigallia AN, Italy / 2015 Demanio Marittimo - Km 278 / Competition / Mention The proposal for Demanio Marittimo Km278, a national architectural event, was a moment of confrontation with the theme of contemporary beach and sea. The project, designed by a team of 6 people is a sign on the beach, one element that hosts and integrates all the functions required. A poetic space, which denies, but only for a moment, the sense of freedom transmitted from the beach and the sea. An unexpected path where the perception of the beach change with it, from day to night, you will discover new horizons and new perspectives. This path connects those who walk on it and enhances views and sights where you can observe the endless skyline.

CONNECTIONS’ LANDASCAPE San Cataldo - Lecce, Italy / 2015 International Architecture Holiday / Competition / 1°Prize + Construction The project is the winning proposal of the competition for the relax pavilion of the international event IAH. Developed in a team of 3 people, the temporary installation is drawn by gravity, a ropes landscape that are positioned lying in their natural balance and creates an entry filter. Circular wooden seats invite the visitor to stop and socialize or enjoy the shade of the pine forest. Light filters and draw shadows on the surfaces; the sounds and the smell of nature, wrap yourself in a new sustainable space. Three steps, three materials for self-build installation that adapts to many situations and configurations. We can realize our project with our hands and adapt it to needs and problems of the area.

AFTERWAVE Senigallia AN, Italy / 2013 Demanio Marittimo - Km 278 / Competition / Mention A big smooth trunk left by the sea on the beach and a wave breaking on the shore. This is what welcomed us when we arrived at the place, and from this meeting so silent and unexpected were born the project themes: the mystery of the sea, its vulnerability and the inexorable flow of water that breaks on the relentless shore leaving an ever new landscape, dynamic and purely random. The result is a silent architecture brought ashore by a wave, a temporary layout and consciously precarious, modular objects from wich discover and contemplate the environment. The elements made of recyclable materials such as pipes and fabric, illuminated from within, creates the event spaces such as the stage, the bookshop, the tasting area, the projection area and the exhibition area.

URBAN BREATH New York , Queens, USA / 2015 Metropolitan LAB / International Workshop / A workshop took place in part on the site, in New York, to experience the urban regeneration in a particular context. The Queens is known for the mix of ethnic groups, languages and cultures that populate it. The project is a strategy for dealing with metropolitan urban voids, turning them into quality spaces. The gaps left by the intersection of the roads can become a space to “take a break” from the frenzy and chaos that characterizes the Roosevelt Avenue. The project starts from the characters of the place, the elevated railway and the urban grid, to creates a totally different space, a “New World”, with grass and bushes, a new way to experience the city with playground. The result is an area of strong character and recognizable but customizable.

The project, developed by a 3 people team, wants to redevelop and re-connect the Tenna river banks, which cause administrative reasons are totally disconnected especially near the coast and the adjacent harbor area. The proposal is a multipurpose center with a 250-seat auditorium and a conference room, an exhibition hall, restaurants, shops and offices, connected by an entirely pedestrian space, a water square and a cycle path that traces and upgrades the northern river bank. Natural and built environment come together to solve the problem of flooding, providing flood areas and permeable surfaces.

The river Tenna forms the artificial lake of San Ruffino, just outside of the Monti Sibillini Park, a “ghost� lake whit great environmental value that every year during the winter, when the dam is opened, it disappears almost completely, leaving a dry own bed and returning the river. The reflection on this particular character of the context generates the idea of the project: sculptural elements connected by a footbridge are immersed in water during the summer, emerge in the winter season and become accessible from the lake floor. They are shaped to retain water and form swimming pools and public spaces. The result, developed with a team of three people, is a strong and representative wellness center that completes the landscape playing provocatively with the boundary between natural and artificial.

The project is located at the end of a sequence of terraced houses in a modern district of Amsterdam and wants to redevelop the pier and final area. The public space aims to regain the relationship with the sea through the offset of the surfaces until the water level, in a succession of spaces and ramps that can host multiple functions. The tower house, typical of the city, has been redesigned searching for the ongoing relationship with the sea, but at the same time privacy. Road side there is a traditional and simple elevation, Sea side, the building opens, letting in filtered light through the shading in the heart of the house, consists of a glass shell that covers two levels. The house is completed by a swimming pool and a private pier.

ARCHITECTURE FOR PEACE : TAILORING Tanaf, Casamance, Senegal / 2016 Kaira Looro Architecture for Senegal / International Workshop /
The project is the result of an international workshop organized to develop project ideas to be donated to Senegal. The tailoring center, conceived by a group of 10 people including professional tutors, starts from the spatial analysis of the typical village of the area and the colors of the Senegalese clothes. We would like to improve the current employment situation and create a center for tailors, the purpose is to pass on the tradition, produce and sell, and so become a landmark for the area. The required repeatability of the project leads to the design of a combinable MODULE which can take a variety of functions: work area, sales, services and square. The project is permeable in all directions and creates an identity and meeting point. We looked for typical construction techniques and local materials including fabrics that, from clothes material becomes an architectural element, used in cover to protect from mosquitoes and create ventilation is also the natural light filter and the color of the night sky.

AMPHITHEATER AND ROMAN BATHS Degree Thesis / Urban regeneration trhough archeological site / Ancona, Amphitheater and Roman Baths, 2016
The project is an extract from the Master Degree Thesis in “Ingegneria EdileArchitettura� and would like to create a unique exhibition path to connect the amphiteaer, the roman baths and the church of S. Gregorio. This archaeological site in Ancona is the result of demolitions and excavations that have profoundly changed the neighborhood. The project creates a unique exhibition path that links discoveries of Roman Amphitheater, the Baths and the churchyard of S. Gregorio. The archaeological roof is integrated with the square outside and the traces of the preexisting urban pattern are showed using stone and pools of water. The unused space on Via Birarelli becomes bookshop, a stone opaque wall hides a glass and steel courtyard that enhances the transparency and lightness of the building. The project add another layer to the stratifications of the site and lets to read them to not return a view of the past as something definitive and absolute but constantly changing.

Building on void, building the void, is the theme of the project which also relates to another type of space that was in this area, the court, very common in historical buildings of Ancona and this case is reapeted, extended, expanded, it can be lived in multiple forms and in a different way. The court is a void that reaches the bottom of the excavation, it runs throughout the building to once again go over the stratification of time. The difficult of the lot geometry intersects with the alignment of the underlying tunnel, so the internal wall of the building is positioned on the tunnel limit, to avoid columns in correspondence of Roman ruins.
