Alessandro Berni, one of the renowned art dealer received testimonial of the year award for Caritas International in the year 2003.Another great achievement was to received the honor title of Finalist of the Award “Spazi in cercad’autore” on 2002.All this acted as a great motivation for him to introduce an art gallery. He was responsible for conceiving, developing, planning and implementing the programming composed by various live concerts, plays in different languages, movie projections and documentaries, magazines and art exhibitions. He very well organized the promotion of such activities. ALESSANDRO BERNI GALLERY feels pleasure to announce Life Scroll a solo exhibition by Japanese artist Kentaro Chiba who exhibits in Perugia during Sep 26th to Oct 18thfor the first time. LifeScroll continued as a daily discipline with well-detailed and sustained drawing. It was started in 1991 and now 19 meters long.
Kentaro Chiba was born in Tokyo in the year 1953.He completed his MA in Fine Arts from Nottingham Trent University, UK. He works in Japan. Some of his awards and appreciation includes 1992, Artex Tokyo (Golden Prize); 1994 Osaka Triennal 1999, Liverpool Biennale, United Kingdom. 2017, Artifact Gallery, New York City; 2018 The Silent Witness, Onishi Gallery New York City; 2018 The Silent Witness, Camden Image Gallery, , Life Scroll, 2019,MyMicroGallery, Milan. For releasing LIFE SCROLL, Chiba intentionally chooses automatic drawing to create a space loaded with contradiction and not only for Western perspective expression and mirrored projection. It was with Eastern contra-perspective along with isometric projection methods and birds-eye-view. Since the beginning, idea of distant view appealed much which suggests that the absence of a viewer or an invisible viewer in the distance. Without any evidence of a viewer, it shows the absence of a viewer and a kind of visual purity.
Alessandro Berni highlights that it is made up of numerous fragments which are transient and ephemeral. It can also be considered as a stream of consciousness. On the other hand, Chiba thinks that it helps to mirror the depth of sub consciousness where the border between individuals and rules of linguistic division can vanish. It displays that time and space flow but at the same time, it is an aggregation of numerous moments to be synchronic. So, time becomes ambiguous. It also recommends narrativity over a period of time and can be considered away from linguistic assertions and a panorama on a distant horizon. What’s more. Some of the best work in the museum is available in digital version. On the collections portal, users can now download images along with details and it will help as a guide for how to use images.Various museums receive many inquiries from researchers, students and educators who are interested in viewing or reproducing the museum’s artworks.
The online collections are diverse ranging from archaeology, fashion and contemporary art.Although, the trend of digitization started in 2016.The art works are available under copyright while in a few it has been waived off.In normal times, art galleries experiences great footfall of art lovers from all the corners of the world. In the month of September, some of the organizers cancelled the fair due to COVID-19.This sage decision was taken considering the rise of corona cases.
